PetSafe Electronic SmartDoor
Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again.
Electronic SmartDoor gives your pet a key to the house so he can come and go as he pleases. Using radio-frequency technology, the SmartDoor reads the unique signal of a SmartKey worn on your pet’s collar and triggers the battery power-driven flap to unlock. When the SmartDoor no longer senses your pet’s SmartKey, the flap automatically locks back into place. The SmartDoor can detect up to five programmed SmartKeys and also operates in two other modes: fully locked mode and unlocked mode. Locked mode does not allow entry or exit for any pet and unlocked mode allows entry and exit for all pets.

does not last long
By midwestcore on Dec 14, 2020
I already have the hole cut in my door so I guess I have to buy another one so it will fit the same. but the door has come off 4 times in 3 years, the last time it broke all the tabs off the hanger so it can't be put back together. they should re-design those plastic parts that the door swings on because over time in the weather the plastic gets brittle and breaks.

Excellent for price
By shay on Oct 14, 2020
We bought this dog door for our German Shepard pup. We love the door and are working on training our pup to independently use the door without us present. We are currently using the neck fob and the automated system. The only down side is the door makes a lot of noise on this setting. Even in the other room, the door gets set off by the fob on his collar and triggers it to unlock which is loud. Sometimes scaring the pup.

Mostly good.
By Emily on Jul 24, 2020
Chewy was so fast to get it to us. Only Big thing I am not excited about is sometimes our dog stands in front of the door and it takes a while for door to unlock/open, and other times she is at other side of house and I hear the door unlock! We adjusted sensitivity that generally she is 4 feet away and it unlocks. But other times it has a mind of its own. Also the booklet said about a light on the smart key will tell you when the battery is low. It is solid and no way there is a light for the smart key battery. That is deceptive. There is a light on the door to let you know when door batteries are low.

Great dog door
By scurl on Aug 14, 2020
This door was easy to install. We had stray cats entering our home. The dogs wear the smart key. They can easily move in and out of the house. The door locks about 15 seconds after they go through it.

Is not working for us.
By Rescuer on Jun 12, 2020
One problem is the unlock sound is so loud that both Sienna and I jump. Problem number two is, it will unlock and lock again when she is in the back bedroom (I hear it) not that close to it. Problem three, when I get her right in front of it, it takes a bit of time before it unlocks then I need to hold the flap up and encourage her to go through, still. All this has me looking for a different type of door because I need her to be able to use it on her own when I am in the hospital for surgery.

The Best Invention EVER
By Mandy on Jun 28, 2020
I have two German Shepherds and a lab-imagine letting them all out on separate schedules?! Let’s also add I have an indoor kitty who has big dreams of being an outdoor tiger. This is the perfect solution. My dogs can go outside whenever they want, the door locks behind them, no tiger kitty! Seriously, we don’t know what we would do without this door!

I bought both the large and small
By Jacqueline on Aug 16, 2020
My dogs managed to break both doors so now we just have a towel taped over it. They were too expensive for that

Hard to find
By DoggoBreakfast on Jul 23, 2020
These are getting hard to find, but I am so glad you all carry them, the motor on my other one went out after 4 years.

2nd Time Around
By Dana on May 1, 2020
This was the 2nd time we ordered this door. The only reason we had to replace it is that our 3 Great Pyr/Anatolian mix dogs thought it was the starting gate for a race track. LOL I have to admit we don't use the locks as much as I thought we would, but over all I like this door very much. Easy to install and operate. Additional "openers" are available which is great for multi-pet homes.
