extreme weather door can it be used on your standard pet safe door? the wind is blowing mine open all the time.

The Extreme Weather Pet Door does not fit the Classic PetSafe door, it has different holes for attaching.
What are the measurements for the LARGE PetSafe Extreme Weather Pet Door?

The outer frame for the large door measures 12 ½ x 19 ¾ inches, listed as length x width.
Can I install this in my petsafe patio door (panel)? The flap that’s there is rather weak

The flap on this door can only be used with the attached frame.

This pet door includes a snap-on panel which can be used to keep other animals out, when needed. However, when the panel is not in place, any animals small enough to use the pet door would be able to use it. We also carry the PetSafe Electronic SmartDoor which uses a SmartKey to allow only the programmed pets to enter/exit for added security.

Overall happy with the doggy door

I'm happy with how sturdy the door is, but the closure part of the door you use to stop your pet from going out is awful! I have arthritis in my hands and I struggle terribly trying to remove this when I get home! I always had one that slides up and down, but liked the three flaps so bought this one instead! Hopefully it loosens up with use!

Ok but pricey for security bad flap and screws

I am replacing a previous door that the flap could not be replaced. Had to fill a small portion from old door. This door shows a more secure inner edge frame than the four pieces you have to cut and hold while you are trying to install the frame. The plastic bolts are ridiculous they do night tighten but skip. I will probably replace them with metal later. I added insulation where possible we live in cold country. The last was the cover. This was difficult to remove before install and I thought it was because there was no way to grab but no this cover is impossible to pull away and get off. I cut off the side inside edges and will add magnets to the top to hold it in. Anyone could kick it out so the magnets will be fine to keep the dogs in at night. For the price it is poor quality but will work for my needs. Installation is not as easy as shown and one person cannot lift my door. LOL It is in and working as soon as one of my dogs realizes it being so dark does not mean it is covered.

Product didn’t last six months before wear and tear was excessively showing and now nine months in and the bottom and side plastic is completely broke. Don’t waste your money. Also I called for a replacement/refund and was turned down because the products purchase date was more than 12 months ago. If you do end up buying this product i would highly recommend doing so elsewhere
