- Designed for durability and long-lasting use with a strong and lightweight aluminum frame.
These specially-designed wheel mounting brackets provide a wider wheel base and lower
center of gravity, which reduces the chance of the trailer tipping over. However, this risk is still present, especially when the dog’s center of gravity is high (standing position) and/or when their weight shifts rapidly to one side of the trailer. A common example is when the dog is standing while the bicycle is turning, and the dog loses its balance and leans heavily against one side of the trailer. To minimize this risk, always reduce speed before making turns, and adjust the leash inside the trailer so the dog’s center of gravity stays low.
Never tow the trailer without the hitch and hitch safety strap correctly connected! Always make sure the rear door is closed fully before towing the trailer.

Attach the bicycle towbar: After all parts have been removed, position the main cabin of the trailer with the bottom side facing up. Locate the towbar mounting bracket which is welded to the frame; remove the pre-installed nut and bolt and the clevis pin (which is connected to the bolt with a black cord), but leave the black plastic spacer in place in the bracket. Position the towbar so the end with two holes fits into the plastic spacer and the hole at the end of the towbar aligns with the middle hole in the plastic spacer and the metal bracket. Re-install the bolt and nut through these holes taking care to keep the black cord from the clevis pin connected to the bolt. Lock the towbar into the stowed position by inserting the clevis pin through the mounting bracket, plastic spacer, and towbar and engage the hoop spring on the end of the clevis pin.
-
Attach the wheel mounting brackets and wheels: Insert the square tube section of one wheel mounting bracket into either end of the square tube which runs under the trailer, making sure the bracket extends above the bottom of the cabin. Align the hole in the bracket with the hole in the square tube; insert the bolt & nut and tighten using the hex wrench provided and an adjustable wrench. Repeat with remaining wheel mounting bracket. Turn the cabin over before moving to the next step. Insert the axle spindle of one wheel into the axle tube on the wheel mounting bracket while pressing down on the spring lock button. Push the wheel in so that the spindle is in all the way, then release the spring lock. Pull out on the wheel to check that the spring lock is engaged. Removal is the reverse of installation.
-
Erecting the cabin: The sides of the cabin frame are held in place by means of a roof support rod and two black plastic star knobs. With the wheels resting on the ground, rotate one side panel into a vertical orientation. Position the support rod inside the trailer so one star knob can be inserted through the hole in the fabric cover and frame tube on the side of the trailer and into the threads on the end of the support rod. Repeat with the other star knob on the other side of the trailer, and fully tighten both star knobs. Place the rectangular cushion in the floor of the cabin and attach the safety leash to one of the rear D-rings in the cabin. Finally, using a Phillips screwdriver, attach the two red reflectors to the lower rear panel of the trailer at the holes provided in the fabric shell.
-
Connecting to bicycle: The towbar connects to the bicycle via the included quick-connect hitch. Attach the hitch to the left side of the rear bicycle wheel by removing the axle nut, positioning the hitch on the axle, and re-tightening the axle nut. If your bicycle has a quick-release wheel, remove the quick-release pin from the axle, insert it through the hitch, then re-assemble through the axle. The hitch should be installed with the male connector piece facing back and angling away from the bicycle. To move the towbar from stowed position to tow position, remove the clevis pin from the mounting bracket, swing the towbar until it faces forward from the trailer, then reinsert the clevis pin in the forward holes in the mounting bracket. Position the trailer behind the bicycle so that the female connector on the towbar can slide over the male connector on the hitch. Lock these connectors in place with the clevis pin provided. Loop the black safety strap around the bike frame and attach the snap swivel to the D-ring on the towbar.
-
Loading and unloading pets: Load and unload pets only through the rear door, with the front window closed and the trailer attached to the bicycle. Have someone hold the bicycle firmly in an upright position, or lay the bicycle on its side. To load, assist the pet into the cabin and connect the safety leash to the pet's collar. Adjust the length of this leash so the pet cannot exit through the front window when it is open. Always close the rear door before riding. Storing the trailer: Put the towbar into stowed position as described above. Unscrew the two star knobs and remove the support rod. Remove the wheels by pushing the buttons on the spring locks. The wheels can be stored inside the cabin if desired. Fold down the two sides of the cabin.

This one's just right!
By ellenita on Jan 30, 2021
I hesitated to purchase this trailer based on the review that it was not compatible to an ebike. This is true, but you can easily enlarge and modify the attachment to fit. We tried the Burley trailer first but this trailer is so much better for larger dogs like my standard poodle.

Awful instructions, not worth the money
By Hayley on Dec 12, 2020
This product is awful. We purchased for our dog to use on our e-bikes. If you have an e-bike, beware that you may not be able to attach the "hitch" part to your wheel. That was the first annoying part. We found another way to attach the hitch although it's pointless because the trailer arm is wobbly as heck. Tightened all the bolts and screws to the point where the wrench went flying and the arm is still wobbly. I'm not confident this is safe enough to put any living thing in it because it wobbles so much. The directions are awful. Do yourself a favor and buy from a different brand, one that preferably doesn't require so much building.

Easy assembly & collapsible
By TortoiseByte on Dec 29, 2020
Easy to assemble & quick to collapse for storage. Tracks well. For very heavy loads you will need to replace the floorboard with some plywood or HDPE sheet. A second mount included or sold separately would be great so it could switch between bikes easier. It is probably a pain to mount on high end frames or electric bikes, but it fit our conventional and quick release skewers.

Have wheels will roll
By alex321 on Dec 11, 2020
Easy to assemble, sturdy & awesome to take your dog for a stroll when recovering from CCL surgery. I purchased the stroller adapter & my dog was happy to get fresh air. Once I get the ok from the surgeon, will take him with me on the bike.

Love my trailer
By Kimberly on Aug 31, 2020
I bought my trailer 11/2 years ago and I could not be happier. I rollerblade, bike and walk with my trailer/stroller. My BFF bought one too this year and both of our dogs love it. My older dog who recently passed away also loved being able to go everywhere with me. I bought it originally for her because she was blind with a heart condition. I spoke with customer service one time and they were very helpful. I can’t say enough good things about my trailer.

Great Trailer, But...
By Kate on Aug 18, 2020
I purchased this trailer Yesterday & received it this morning.. 5 Star there! Upon assembling the trailer & attempted to attach it to my Specialized Mountain Bike/Trek Road Bike. I found the through bolts on my bikes would Not work with the bracket system that comes with this trailer. I contacted PetSafe Directly. They informed me, they were aware of the issue connecting to nicer/higher end bikes. But had no resolution at this time. After doing some research online I found The Robert Axle Project , this product will provide you the through bolt that will work with the connecting bracket sold with this trailer. I only gave the trailer 3 stars for this issue alone. The trailer is already I purchased this trailer Yesterday & received it this morning.. 5 Star there! Abbie the Labby Loves her Carriage
By KSKR on Aug 8, 2020
My husband suggested getting this after Abbie, our 20 month old Lab, strained her CCL. I was not sure at first, but he was spot on. She LOVES it!! We did support the bottom with 2 pieces of corrugated plastic from yard signs we had in the garage. Then we added her car blanket so she'd know it was hers. A few pieces of shredded cheese and she was lured in. The first "ride" was my husband walking the bike with attached carriage and I walked next to her (just as if we were loose leash walking) treating with cheese.Once she was comfortable, he took her up and down the street very slowly. We ended on that good note. Our second ride was just as smooth and a loop around the block. She looks so darn My husband suggested getting this after Abbie, our 20 month old Lab, strained her CCL. I would definitely recommend this item!
By Donna on Aug 28, 2020
My Golden Retriever Mason turned 10 and just does not have the steam for our long walks anymore , it took him a couple of short rides but I think he is enjoying it now. I also ordered the stroller pack and I got to say they really thought this thru, so easy to turn from bike to stroller. This trailer is so well made and it is a very smooth ride for both my pooch and I.

Perfect for our Dog!
By Ravenna on Sep 4, 2020
Got this two weeks ago, and we’ve been taking our 50# lab everywhere with us. She took to it immediately! It’s easy to put together, it very well constructed and maneuvers behind the bike very easily.

Doggie Appoved.
By darla3372 on Aug 4, 2020
We love it, but have to remember going through tight spots which ya cannot do with this. Lots of room for one dog, yet to try two. Love the design, all the pockets, how easy it collapses to store. The little mattress slips, might put down some velcro or something else all together. I'm very happy with my purchase.
