Is this product waterproof or water-resistant? i.e., can it withstand a big breed's vomiting?

This seat cover is designed to be waterproof.
Is this cover machine washable? I noticed a review that states the cover was destroyed after washing it in a machine.

To clean, promptly wipe up any foreign matter or standing liquid. Machine wash cover in a commercial size front-load washing machine. Using cold water with mild detergent. Line dry.
Can this be. Used with a child's car seat as well.

The Seat Cover does have slits to allow seatbelts to pass through. If the child car seat only needs to be secured with a seatbelt, then it can be used with this. If there are any other preinstalled places that the child car seat needs to connect, they may be inaccessible with the seat cover in place.
do the adjustable straps clip together or simply loosen to get over the headrests? and if they only loosen - do they stay in position or gradually loosen over time causing it to sag?

This seat cover features adjustable straps that slide over the headrests and can be loosened or tightened to fit your vehicle. They will stay in place and can be adjusted if needed.

Just as described, quality cover.

The car cover arrived amazingly quickly! Chewy always delivers! The cover is good quality and just what I needed to allow my dog into our new car. I was concerned about how it would fit in a small car -- I have a Chevy Bolt -- but it works fine. The zip openings to allow access to the seat belts buckle lines up and allows me to use my dog's leash/seat belt easily. I would give it 5 stars if it came with a storage bag since I don't intend to have it on the seats all the time.

Best Dog Taco Ever

I've bought two of these now. Not perfect, but by far the best dog-hammock car seat cover available. Quilted cotton cover + foam underside = no slipping, which my dog appreciates. Zippers make accessing seatbelts easy. Adjustable in width for a good front barrier that doesn't sag a lot. Other reviewers have pointed out flaws, e.g., that the faux-leather buckles and straps can split; I agree and have observed some wear to these parts, but I've had one in use for a couple years now, so it IS possible to treat the product gently and have it last, and additionally, you can have it repaired by a shoe repair place or auto upholsterer, no need to chuck it in the landfill. Speaking of which, it's at least partly cotton, so that's less waste you'll be burdening the earth with in the end. Yay all around.

amazing quality

I have an 18 mo belgian malinois and we have gone through a hammock for my car every few months since she was a puppy. None have lasted with the zipper at the hammock side. She always breaks the zipper, her favorite spot is hanging her head between the two front seats where the zipper is. I got this because it is one piece no zipper on the front seat side. Definitely worth the price paid for the quality of material. Also like that I can adjust with snaps and denim. Makes it extra durable for my big girl. I even asked for one for christmas to have ready as a replacement when the time comes. I have a feeling this is going to make it for the long haul!

Does not hold up over time

I bought this cover about 3 years ago. I am pleased that it is cotton; it also stays in place well and washes easily (machine wash delicate, line dry). However, it does not fit my car as depicted in the photo; rather, it sags in places, which (as time has passed) has caused the rivulets to pop off. I expected more for such an expensive product.

My dog finally met her match!

After destroying a quilted hammock in one 10-hour round trip and tearing a hole in the vinyl backup hammock that my previous dog used for years without damage, my rambunctious dog has finally met her match! We’ve now made 2 more 10-hour trips and this hammock is holding up great - stays put, no slipping off the seat, and the only sign of wear is the hair stuck to the canvas (vacuums off in a jif)! Zippers over seat belt openings keep spilled kibble and water contained and straps going under seat prevent even the most determined clawing to get underneath the hammock. Best of all she’s safe, secure, and comfy. Well worth the money!’

machine washed and destroyed

I washed my hammock and tumble dried on low and it shriveled up and was not able to be used again and had to discard. I have another one by Kurgo that I have washed many times and have had no issues. Extremely disappointed especially at this price point.

Best seat cover!

I tried 4 different seat covers in our SUV with leather seats. We have two dogs - 110 pounds and 35 pounds. This cover was by far the best! It’s very well-made and high quality. It fits well on the seat (larger 3-seat SUV) and the adjustable straps make it easy to fit it snuggly. The seatbelt openings also make it very convenient for a human to use the backseat without having to remove the cover. We use dog seatbelts and they work nicely with the openings as well. This cover doesn’t slide around when the dogs are in the car or jumping into the car. With other covers, they wouldn’t stay in place and would bunch up constantly. This lays nicely and looks nice in the car. Our seats are white leather, so I do wish other color options were available but it’s worth it to have the seats well protected and our doggos safe and comfortable. Definitely recommend!

Fabulous Car Sling

I've had several slings for my two dogs over the years and can say this is the best one ever. Not only is it very padded for comfort, the reverse has grip like surface so it doesn't slide all over the seat. The extra tie downs on bottom secure it much better than any I've looked for and I've looked at dozens. It is a bit pricer than some, but well worth the money. I highly recommend this product. Also, Chewy rocks! They recently donated food (after the Texas freeze) to a rescue I support and we're very appreciative. Great company to do business with ~ always!!!

Great seat cover

Great “hammock” car seat cover. Sturdy fabric, adjustable, easy to install. Perfect for our hound, who had trouble keeping her footing when the car seats (Volvo wagon) were flipped down for extended cargo area. She prefers sitting on seats, and the hammock keeps her in place. Everyone’s happy.
