This collar is designed to prevent strangulation accidents. Dogs collars can get snagged on so many things: fences, decks, kennels and crates, bushes, floor grates—even other dog’s teeth. The KeepSafe patented break-away safety buckle prevents strangulation accidents by releasing when pressure is applied to the buckle. It can be used securely with a leash by fastening the leash to the two D rings. Made of nylon strap, fabric fastener, and metal hardware.

To select the most accurate size collar for your pet, measure the center of their neck with a cloth tape measure, a few inches down from their head. Pull the cloth tape measure snug, but not tight. If you don't have a cloth tape measure, you can use a piece of string and measure it with a rigid ruler afterwards. Make sure there’s enough room for about two fingers between the collar and your pet’s neck for comfort.

I have two active, playful, big pups under one year old. They play rough. I bought these collars to keep them from getting their jaws caught in each others collar during play. I also zip tied their Seresto collars on the inside of the breakaway collar to prevent them from chewing them in two. (we cut the seresto collar to fit and not compromise the breakaway feature) Occasionally, I have to search the yard occasionally for the collar so a reflective strip or very bright collars would be helpful in easy detection.
First one arrived with a broken latch. Chewy quickly exchanged for free but within a week the new one broke. The collar does work as intended but the design of the latch could be better as the plastic breaks easily
After an incident where our two 90 pound labs became entangled together with their old belt style collars while play biting and wrestling, one was almost strangled to death and the other almost broke his lower jaw we will never use regular collars again! We were lucky we were in the room when it happened to cut them free. These collars are the best!
I purchased this collar with the thought it would be hard for it to snap off, but it detaches way too easily. If it were to get caught on something and the dog were to pull away, it’s snapping right off. I didn’t even have to tug on the collar hard for it to snap right open and come off. nice design but I’m definitely returning this
I thought this would be great for a full size Malamute, it didn't matter. It's stiff and uncomfortable. It's a good concept but in order to use this a leashed collar the two metal loops have to fit in the leash clasp. It's too bulky when you put them together the collar buckles. They could be a bit bigger so the collar lays flat on the neck. I got the matching leash and the whole system is flawed.... Not happy with it at all.
I’ve had these collars on both of my large dogs for about 3 years now and they’re still holding up great. I see some people complain about not being able to leash with these (they’re using it wrong) or that the collar breaks away while rough-housing (the alternative is your dog gets choked or whipped around by the neck). I wonder how the people who can’t wrap their head around the basic principles of this collar can somehow navigate through chewy to leave a review. This collar is great peace of mind and I highly recommend it for most dog owners.
It does not come in a extra small do they not realize that there are small dogs that take extra small
After having my Rotty get caught on our kitchen cupboard door knob (luckily she didn't get hurt) I changed all my dogs to breakaway collars. I heard more terrible stories after we did this also. If you have an active dog-this is a must.
I love this collar. Lyle goes to daycare and loves to wrestle with his buddy Hutch. They tell me this collar comes off several times a day and is a "pain" to put back together. That tells me it is working properly. It should be somewhat difficult to take apart and snap back together. The boys are rough and I am happy that the collar keeps Lyle from getting hurt. I highly recommend this collar for anyone who has a dog that plays rough.
Have been using this safety collar on all our family dogs for many years. My brother lost his black lab Cooper to strangulation when his other lab caught her bottom jaw under his collar. For adding tags, we use larger orings purchased at the hardware store and also have our phone number embroidered on the collar. The local sports shop does the embroidery. Wouldn't use any other collar
