This collar is designed to prevent strangulation accidents. Dogs collars can get snagged on so many things: fences, decks, kennels and crates, bushes, floor grates—even other dog’s teeth. The KeepSafe patented break-away safety buckle prevents strangulation accidents by releasing when pressure is applied to the buckle. It can be used securely with a leash by fastening the leash to the two D rings. Made of nylon strap, fabric fastener, and metal hardware.
Key Benefits- Designed to prevent strangulation accidents.

To select the most accurate size collar for your pet, measure the center of their neck with a cloth tape measure, a few inches down from their head. Pull the cloth tape measure snug, but not tight. If you don't have a cloth tape measure, you can use a piece of string and measure it with a rigid ruler afterwards. Make sure there’s enough room for about two fingers between the collar and your pet’s neck for comfort.

Just the thing...
By Petmom on Feb 18, 2021
This collar is just the thing I was looking for! My medium size dog is very powerful and if he ever got a collar stuck on something, inside or outside, he could do himself serious injury. I always walk him in a harness and have kept his ID collar very snug to keep it from getting caught on something. With the breakaway feature on this collar it doesn’t need to be so tight. It is much easier to give him snuggles now and he is much more comfortable and does less scratching. I did find that the place on this collar to attach tags was too close to the buckles and D rings so everything was under his chin all the time. I made a loop opposite all the hardware to attach his tags. That worked much This collar is just the thing I was looking for! It makes putting on sweaters, coats, and his harness much easier for me and more comfortable for him to wear. The bright blue looks very good on him because his right eye is also blue. Thank you Chewy for great products! … more

Life saver

I have a 65lbs pit, got the Large, fits great. My dog likes to play fight with the neighbors dog 90lb lab and a few weeks ago the neighbors dogs bottom jaw got stuck under my dogs collar (my dog had a leather belt buckle type collar at the time).. he almost died from asphyxiation, luckily i was close by and able to intervene in time.. my dog was non responsive for a few seconds, vomit in his mouth - it was scary, so i searched the internet and came across product, he's had it for a few weeks now and twice so far while play fighting the breakaway feature has worked. It looks good, has two metal loops either side of the breakaway so you can walk them.. very happy with this, and my minds at ease I have a 65lbs pit, got the Large, fits great. Jury is out

Got these for our dogs when ones jaw got caught in the others collar. The new collar pops pretty easy so concerned it could come off at the wrong time and leave our pups without ID

Keeps our dogs safe!
By BettyL on Nov 24, 2020
We like keeping id tags on our dogs at all times even though they are both microchipped. We were afraid of our dogs' collars getting caught on things or each other. These aren't the cutest collars but they work and seem sturdy. The other comments were right that the red wasn't the normal pure red, but I like that for our female newfie mix since they didn't have a pink one yet. There aren't many breakaway collars for large dogs available...I hope they make some other color choices or patterns.

Great Collar
By Sharon on Oct 29, 2020
Very happy with collar, feel much safer with a breakaway collar on my terrier, he doesn't mind wedging himself into tight places in pursuit of anything that moves, lol, and I have found the collar hanging on the fence in the yard and in various places in the house where he has gotten it caught when my back was turned for a minute, thankfully it worked perfectly. Wouldn't have any other kind!

So far, so good
By kabucha on Oct 21, 2020
I bought this for my corgi/beagle mix. She has separation anxiety and wanders the house constantly when we are not home, so I have been worried that she would get caught on something with her previous collar. Thankfully, she has not had to use the breakaway feature yet (which is why I haven't given it 5 stars), but aside for that it has been fine. It does take some strength to pull it apart by hand, so it does not come apart too easily which is nice.

Best purchase ever, I love these sooo much I’m so glad I got these for my dogs. They play rough and like to grab collars. Now I don’t have to worry about them getting hurt

Save a dog's life
By DogMom on Jul 31, 2020
I discovered these collars about 13 and have used them ever since. Many folks have had "near misses" with collars, but we tragically lost a 16 month old Rottweiler puppy to a collar strangulation while playing "kissy face" with a smaller and very gentle Laboradoodle. It was probably the most devastating experience of my life, especially after learning that it was not as uncommon as I had expected. We have used these collars on our dogs for 10+ years and it has been the best solution for us. While they don't snap off super easily, we have on a few occasions (like after the dogs have played hard) found a collar had snapped off in the yard. cant live without them
By RoWell on Jul 27, 2020
I have had multiple issues and know of many times of dogs hanging up on their collars. My two got tangled together a toe stuck in a collar, one dog was being strangled the other dislocating her shoulder to get it out. i will NEVER be without break away collars again. this by far is the sturdiest clasp. Highly recommend especially in multi dog homes. my dads dog got caught on a fence jumping down from a bench, thankfully his breakaway collar saved him from injury!
