Skeptical at first...but it works for us!
By Sandra on Jan 7, 2021
We bought this to keep our cat from sitting in front of our bedroom door. He’d either bolt in as soon as we’d open the door or he’d sit right outside the door and whine all night long, keeping us up. He’s not allowed in the bedroom because my husband has allergies so the bedroom is our one cat-free zone. Anyway when we first got the collar on him and got it all turned on, he didn’t really react. But after a few shocks I could tell he was getting annoyed and so he’s been staying away ever since. I was very pleased with how this worked! I’m especially happy that the shock doesn’t hurt him! It just mildly annoys him. I’m sure anyone who knows cats, knows that they don’t take well to being annoyed We bought this to keep our cat from sitting in front of our bedroom door. I’m sure anyone who knows cats, knows that they don’t take well to being annoyed or uncomfortable, so this is working like a charm on our boy lol Also my cat never wears a collar and has never taken well to them in the past. But he’s very comfortable wearing this collar and never minds when i put it on him. I will say, my reason for only 4 stars is because the collar isn’t the best quality. We adjusted it to his size according to the instructions, snipping off the excess. But it still keeps wriggling itself loose. Now I’m on the hunt for a different collar to use but the instructions say it has to have no metal in it. And finding a collar that doesn’t have any metal is turning out to be very difficult. All in all, I definitely recommend trying this for your cat. … more

Works well when it does
By Luis on Feb 2, 2021
When it works, it works well. But the battery doesn’t make good contact when the rubber seal is on and the system doesn’t work. I had to take the rubber seal to get a good contact but the battery assembly is lose and eventually falls off and gets lost. Had the same issue with two of these.

Total Scam Product
By Lakelady on Jan 5, 2021
It does not work at all. I have followed all the directions. It is not near any appliances and it is not under any furniture. I have it sitting on a wood shelf at the level the collar is on my dog. If I could give it zero stars I would. If you need a product that provides a correction (however large or small that may be), this is not a product to invest. Not worth the time or money. So frustrating.

Fake news as barrier for cats
By Steve on Mar 7, 2021
Does not at all work on cats. The amount of fur matters and for the cat to feel it I would have to shave my cats neck. Definitely false and non specific description.

Doesn't work
By Julie on Jan 3, 2021
I read several reviews on this barrier and knew it was a hit or miss. Definitely a miss. The collar didn't work. The connection with the battery wasn't working. Talked with the company which said they would send me a new collar. Never got it. Called chewy to have this resolved. They offered a refund. I agreed. That was 2 weeks ago. Still waiting.

not long lasting
By alex on Jan 4, 2021
So....I ordered this and it worked for about the first 3 weeks and then my dog realized the timing of the warning before any actual 'punishment' so she will run in, grab something off the counter and run out of the barrier zone. she does the same thing with the outside barrier. even with all the settings set to the max.

Works ok but the collar is too large
By woosinatress on Dec 22, 2020
The range seems to work fine (a little wonky at times but still consistent enough to be effective I think) but the collar is way too bulky and we can’t get it tight enough on our cat for it to even touch her to give the correction so it was a wasted purchase for us. Probably would work ok for dogs but I’m not sure it would work on any cat unless they were pretty large.

This product only.lasted 2 months. Worked great for the first two months, but then stopped working. Replacing batteries did not help.

Doesn't work
By Aaron on Dec 21, 2020
I bought it, the disc turns on, but the collar does not. I even replaced the batteries it came with. Defective crap.

works wonders
By KatC on Jun 19, 2020
LOVE. my 3yo beagle has major anxiety separation issues. She tore up my front door and casing and a couple other door frames in the house. I sooo wish I knew about this before that. i dont have to set it high but i know when the batteries die because thats when she tries to escape with us other wise there is no indicator which is its downfall. the collar only lasted 3 mos but that most likely is my fault for forgetting to turn it off. I ordered a new collar and it worked right away. i recommend for any dog that likes to chew things up and you want them to stay away from that area or any area for whatever reason.
