Description

A dog’s natural instinct is to pull when tension is on the lead, even if they are choking. Because standard collars and harnesses create this tension when owners pull, the dog pulls in the opposite direction. Because the Gentle Leader Headcollar works like a halter, the dog’s head is gently moved in the direction the owner wants it to go. And where the head goes, the body will follow. Because of the placement of the nose loop, the dog immediately understands his/her place in the hierarchy. The dog considers the owner his/her leader.

Key Benefits

  • Stops pulling, lunging, jumping, and other unwanted behaviors with immediate, gentle control
  • Adjustable nose loop allows you to direct your dog’s head in the direction you want to go
  • Makes it easy for anyone to walk big or strong dogs
  • Collar sits high on dog’s neck without putting pressure on the throat, places pressure on the back of the neck instead of the front of the delicate throat, preventing choking and coughing.
  • Safe to use on puppies as young as 8 weeks old, can be converted to a regular collar if needed

Enjoy an Easier Walk with Your Pup

If your dog tends to pull on the leash, daily walks can be stressful for both of you. PetSafe's Gentle Leader Headcollar and Easy Walk Harness make the task of walking your dog an enjoyable experience. They give you immediate control and they're comfortable for your pet, unlike standard collars that can cause choking.

Enjoy an Easier Walk with Your Pup
Less Pulling, More Bonding

Less Pulling, More Bonding

Pet parents agree that the Easy Walk Harness makes such a difference that it's like walking a new dog. Instead of pulling your pup's neck, the Easy Walk redirects the entire torso. The leash connects at the chest with a Martingale loop, so a gentle tug moves her whole body in the direction you want to go. Less time playing tug-of-war means more time for bonding with your pet on your walks.

Uniquely Designed for Gentle Control

The Gentle Leader Headcollar puts you, not your eager walking buddy, in control of the walk. The nose loop redirects your dog's head toward you when she pulls. She'll quickly learn that she's not getting anywhere by pulling forward, and you'll have her full attention. The Gentle Leader is ideal for training dogs to heel and teaching them to walk on a leash without pulling.

Uniquely Designed for Gentle Control
Get the Perfect Fit

Get the Perfect Fit

Both the Gentle Leader and Easy Walk come in a variety of sizes to fit any dog comfortably.

The Easy Walk rests across the chest and wraps around the torso. If it looks like a sideways T, you'll know you have the proper fit. With four adjustment points and quick-snap buckles on the shoulder and belly straps, Easy Walk gives a reliable fit.

The Gentle Leader Headcollar slips securely over your dog's nose and sits high on her neck without putting pressure on her throat. It should form a V when fit properly, and your pup will still be able to eat and carry their favorite tennis ball along with them when wearing the Gentle Leader.

We have a 30lb pitbull puppy who still has a lot of growing to do. We decided to go with the Medium size and it's perfect for her. Not only that, but we will still be able to use it when she's bigger/older because of the adjustable fit. I had one of these for my previous dog and it's one of the best investments around. It really does stop the pulling, jumping, and lunging. Would highly recommend to anyone who's looking for a training tool but doesn't want to get a training collar/prong collar.

  • Makes walking enjoyable

I love the Gentle Leader. Walking my AmStaff/Rottweiler mix used to be a chore. She constantly pulled and I had no success with other collars or harnesses. We've been using it for several months and she doesn't love it, but has gotten used to it. In the beginning she constantly tried to pull it off and scratched her nose a few times. She rarely does this now, usually when she sees another dog and unsuccessfully tries to drag me over to it. I can hold her leash with one hand now and I don't have to constantly correct her pulling. My only complaint, lots of people think it's a muzzle. She's just the sweetest thing, but given her breed and size people are intimidated or frightened by her as it I love the Gentle Leader. • Helps redirect 'reactive' dog

    By on

So far I've been impressed with this product; my 8-year-old, 70 lb. rescue does not mind having it put on and it has helped me redirect him when he sees another dog approaching. I followed the instructions concerning fit, and he has not been able to wriggle out of it, yet can still take treats out of my hand and nibble on grass. Will definitely keep one with a leash in the car, too.

Great Product for sure! But really bro, how baked are you? Do I have to smoke to see the full potential of this product?

  • Made a difference!

My Saint Bernard puppy is still getting use to wearing it but it has definitely made a difference in the pulling while walking. Truly hoping it does what they claim and will make it easier for my children to be able to handle walking him in the future too.

  • Stopped the pulling instantly!

    By on

This works great for taking dogs on a walk, and stops the pulling instantly! The only down side to it, is my dog will not go potty while it is on. I'm not sure why. But, it does exactly what it is meant to do, and stops your dog from trying to yank your arm out of socket!

  • Only way he pulls less/doesn't damage his neck

    By on

My Aussie once pulled so hard he temporarily damaged his throat with a different collar. The gentle leader allows me to control him better especially when he acts up on a walk. If I could just keep my other dog from eating these collars if I forget it on the ground, I wouldn't have had to buy >6 of these.

  • Didn't work for me

    By on

I gave this two weeks of trying, following how they said on the dvd that came with it. Had it sized right and my dog couldn't get it off her nose. But she hated it, I could get her walking inside on it but as soon as I took her out into the yard, it was like she didn't want to walk at all when wearing it. She wouldn't move for anything (treats, bones, people she loves to see calling her, to sniff something new someone was holding in her yard, and not even to go after a chicken in her yard which is something she'd do if the chicken is outside the yard too). It was after I started to use this that my dog started to hate having anything put over her head (rather it be her work harness or a loose I gave this two weeks of trying, following how they said on the dvd that came with it. It was after I started to use this that my dog started to hate having anything put over her head (rather it be her work harness or a loose collar) and I introduced the gentle leader with treats many times before even sizing it onto my dog.The clip under the chin was hard to adjust, the strap over the nose is thin and the padding on it isn't enough for me. It also feels rough and starting to fray just after maybe four uses and the rest of the time it's been laying with the other leads in a box. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is because on one bad day of her not focusing on her training in store... I put it on her and she settled right down and focused on her training. No leash on it but she still pulled and fought against it without any leash put on it, her head would lower and she didn't want to walk... it took a bit before she started to walk and even then it was really slow. In the end, this item didn't work to help stop pulling or anything aside from getting her to loose energy when training for her job. … more
