PetSafe ScatMat Curved Dog & Cat Training Mat

This thing is magic! We have left our dogs free roam for a couple years now. About a month ago they discovered they could get into our trash. At the time our trash can was under our cabinet. We figured simple solution would be a child lock. This is not the answer when you have 150lb Mastador with an attitude problem. He broke the cabinet door (not ripped the hinges out out, literally broke the door itself in half). So after some research I stumbled upon this magical amazing life saving mat. I bit the bullet and spent the money because at this point I have clean up trash so many times I'm considering kenneling my dogs again...which I hate to do since they're rescues and have aggression issues This thing is magic! Tonight we put it to the test. We emptied the trash can (as a precaution cause again...im sick of cleaning up trash). Locked the trash can. And set the mat on stubborn...cause again he broke a freaking wooden cabinet door. Came home and they didn't even knock the can over!! It didn't budge!! Based on the blinks of lights it looks like they tried to approach the can several times....at least 20 but they weren't successful. I am sooo happy!! … more

I have a kitten shes 6 months old and we just put our tree up and every morning when I came out to the living room all of our the ornaments would be on the floor and the tree completely a mess. So basically I had to redo my tree daily! I found these and read all the reviews and decided to try it around the tree, well my kitty at first was weary of it, but after a few hours she walked on it once and (it is on low for kittens) ran away! She has not been on or near the tree since she kinda side eyes it giving the mats dirty looks!lol Best decision I ever made! First day i woke up after buying it I didn’t have to redo our tree! I bought this to keep my cats from playing with my Christmas tree. It worked!

This was worth every penny. Purchased 2 to go around the Christmas tree. This is our first year with kittens at Christmas for 18 years so I was really worried about putting it up with our 2 rambunctious kittens. Both have already come to inspect the tree and boy did they get a surprise. They jumped and ran and keep side eyeing it when they walk by. The real test will be tonight when everyone is in bed but so far I’m loving the scat mat. Thanks chewy!

I just received my curved mat today. I have the large wide mat and the matching extension but I needed the curved mat to complete the barrier around my furniture. The mats work great but I couldn’t find a “wide” curved mat to match the other two. My dog is big and can easily step over the 12” wide curved mat if he wanted to and I’m afraid he will once he finds out that he can. I hope he never attempts it but, knowing him, he will and once that happens, I’m doomed. I would’ve given the mat a perfect rating if only Chewy offered a wider one as I’m very happy with the results of my other ones.

GREAT PRODUCT! I love my cat to death, but he keeps getting into all my plants. Alot of plants are poisonous too! We tried everything to keep our guy safe. Orange peels, water, aluminum, nothing worked...THIS WORKS! Tried it myself just a slight shock. (Laundry static) but enough to scare him!

I got this to keep my kitten off a xmas tree I leave up all year long and decorate it for other holidays too. She would chew at the branches and climb it constantly. This keeps her away from it. I need one for the back of the tree too since my tree is huge. My next purchase. I keep it on the low setting. No need to have it on high setting. What I like about this is it does not hurt our fur babies. On the low setting it just startles them and deters them. Great product.

I bought this to keep our two 5 month old kittens away from the Christmas tree. Placed it in front of the tree on medium. All it took was one encounter with the mat and they never went near it again. With the tree down now, I’m placing it in other areas.....kitchen counters, tables etc.....and using as a training tool.

My husband and I tried it to make sure it wouldn't harm the cats and it's just uncomfortable, not painful. Put it around our Christmas tree a couple days ago and it works! Takes a little bit for the correct contact to be made, I don't think their little fury toes were making enough contact at first. Finally touched it just right with toes and got a shock, also got a shock to the nose. Big, stubborn kitty has been shocked 3 times, so she's definitely testing to make sure it's still working! Little kitty was shocked once and has stayed away. As awful as it sounds, it's freaking hilarious seeing them all of a sudden shoot straight up in the air and scramble to get traction to hightail it out of My husband and I tried it to make sure it wouldn't harm the cats and it's just uncomfortable, not painful. I bought these to keep the cats out of the Christmas tree. They work great and it only took one tiny shock to deter them. Now they don’t go near the tree. They are worth every penny.
