Works Like A Charm
By ItsJenga on Feb 26, 2021
One of our rescues has had an issue with peeing on certain items since she was a kitten. For the most part, she has gotten much better as she has grown, but for some reason likes the corner of my sofa and I had to keep laying down strips of tape to keep her off. The tape is a royal pain! sometimes it gets stuck in her long hair and that is an obvious problem. I was determined to find a solution and not give up on her. She's such a sweet cat and we took on the challenge. So I just bought this and as soon as she got up on the sofa she was startled and jumped off. She understood that she was not allowed up there and I will continue to keep it there. Once she looks up and sees it she goes back to One of our rescues has had an issue with peeing on certain items since she was a kitten. Its Just Okay
By LZSchneider on Jan 28, 2021
So this item definitely works and will zap your kitty just enough to cause discomfort but not enough to harm them in any way. To that end, it works. However, if you're using this mat to keep your cat's out of the kitchen that you can't install a tall gate, your cats will just jump over it. Well, if your cats are athletic like mine, that's what they'll do once they've been shocked once or twice. Its a real shame, too, as I was finally looking forward to keeping their paws off of my cutting board and their hairs outta my food. Honestly, I can't think of anywhere the large sized mat would help a cat stay out of a space unless it's a small closet. Oh well, the search for something to help So this item definitely works and will zap your kitty just enough to cause discomfort but not enough to harm them in any way. To that end, it works. Strips are not for doorways
By Elizabeth on Jan 28, 2021
Ok this seems to work well. I did make a mistake that I think was my own fault. I bought one of the strips thinking that would be nice and slim to put in front of the doorway. But it clearly says on the directions that they are not suitable for doorways because the animal will likely jump over it or walk over it easily. Not sure why I didn’t think of that myself. Also it requires a 9 volt battery so make sure you have one of those ready when it comes in. I think it would be nice if Chewy suggested and sold the batteries separately so you could use it as soon as it came in the mail.

Finally, A Big Problem Solved.
By Robbinsroost on Jan 17, 2021
I have a house full of small antiques, and I am a Christmas tree lover, who puts up one large tree, and 4 smaller, themed trees. I have never ever been a cat person. I am and always have been a dog lover, but just after we lost our beloved, almost 15, Golden Retriever, God sent a pretty little stray Tuxedo Cat to our trash cans. He was chipped, but his owner had just put him out, so what could we do but keep him? To make matter worse, he is a big jumper. After he knocked an expensive antique sewing box off a table in my living room and broke the lid off the hinges, I had to do something. I refused to give up my Christmas trees. My living room and dining room have entrances with no door. I was I have a house full of small antiques, and I am a Christmas tree lover, who puts up one large tree, and 4 smaller, themed trees. My living room and dining room have entrances with no door. I was desperate to keep our Beau out of there, I tried the scat cans; not good enough. I tried one of the mats at each entrance. Beau just jumped over it. I was desperate until my daughter said "Why don't you just get two at each entrance?" I really had not thought of that, I suppose, because of the expense involved. Again , I was desperate and the items at peril are a lot more expensive than four of these mats! Voila! Finally problem solved. On one day Beau ran into the living room to escape from some workmen in the house. I despaired . He was hiding under the couch and we had to drag him out, but after that day, he has never gone back in the living or dining room. He stood from afar and watched me decorate the tree. He totally avoids the area and, when coming down the steps close to the living room entrance, he goes through the stairway spindles to avoid even getting close to the mats. Having one mat at each entrance was not enough, but having two to make the matted aresolved!a very wide, did the trick. It was worth every penny. Problem finally solved! … more

Scat Mat WORKS!!!!!!!!!
By Mimem2 on Jan 22, 2021
I was skeptical, but had tried things to no avail. Didn't want to waste $50.00 if it didn't work, all the while my dog would claw all the pillows off when I would leave. He was popping the threads of my couch!! SO I ORDERED THAT SCAT MAT@@@@@@ HE GOT ON MY COUCH ONCE AND THAT WAS IT! I saw it on my camera after I left. He jumped on the couch and suddenly started high stepping quickly to get off.. I can leave now and know he WILL NOT jump on my couch. IF YOU NEED SOMETHING TO KEEP YOUR PETS OFF THING, BUY THIS!!!

Didn’t work for my kitten
By Tiger on Jan 31, 2021
I was excited to get my scatmat. Unfortunately my kitten jumped over it all day without a problem. I even got the large size. I tried low, then medium then high. It does give a little jolt, I tried it. He is either to light or isn’t putting his feet in the right place. He did get a jolt and jump off if he decided to stand on it. No problem standing on it to do a quick jump.

it really works!
By splunk on Jan 10, 2021
First, I have to say that it felt like much more of a jolt than I expected & others with me noticed that as well. On the other hand, I have never had a cat walk on it yet & it still works! Yes! All I had to do was lay it on the offending chair &, since then, no one has peed on that chair! I have not even had to turn it on, even though I do have the batter in it! Well, is has been about 2 weeks, so maybe eventually I will turn it on, but so far, so good. I might save myself a lot of $ by not even putting the battery into the box! Wow! : )

frustrated
By twoblackdogs on Jan 21, 2021
I am really disappointed with the product. First I found it hard to keep in place on the counter and although sticky tabs were provided I did not want to affix them to the counter. Also the battery ran out fairly quickly the first time I used it. Also it seems to have no impact on our dog whatsoever . we will stick with baby gates

Worked the FIRST TIME
By SeattleBloke on Jan 14, 2021
Got this because I DON'T want my cat walking over food surfaces. The first night I set it up, she tried jumping on the kitchen counter, and got the scare of her life. I've even deliberately left tempting treats out in full view on the counter and left for the day to come back home and find them undisturbed. DEFINITELY worth the purchase!!!

Keeps the cats off
By Brenda on Jan 27, 2021
Keeps my cats off my new car! I got the size that mostly covers the hood and did have to move it around occasionally because they would try to jump up at different areas to get around it and go to the top of the car. They finally gave up!
