Always wash your hands thoroughly after handling used cat litter, as cat feces may contain Toxoplasma gondii—a parasite that can cause toxoplasmosis. Pregnant or nursing women, as well as children and anyone with a weakened immune system, should avoid handling used cat litter. Always handle litter in a ventilated area to avoid inhalation. Keep contents and packaging out of reach of children and pets. Seek medical help in case of accidental ingestion.

What are ScoopFree litter crystals made of? The blue crystal litter is made of a silica gel. The crystals are non-toxic and perfectly safe for people and animals if eaten accidentally. Silica gel is an inert substance that’s mined from the earth. A derivative of silica gel is used in many powered drinks and soups as an anti-clumping agent. If your pet eats a couple of crystals or small bites of litter, he should be perfectly fine. Just provide your pet with water. The crystals will pass through his system. However, you should make sure your pet doesn't eat a large amount of litter. Contact your vet if you notice any changes in your pet's behavior or health or if you suspect your pet has eaten more than a few bites of any type of litter at one time.If your dog often tries to eat your cat's litter, you can take extra steps to keep your dog out of the litter box.
Can I reuse the litter tray by throwing out the old litter and adding new litter? Using the litter tray for more than 30 days per cat may result in urine leakage and tray breakage.
How big are the litter trays? Litter trays are 22” x 14-1/2” x 2-1/2”. The usable litter bed area is 14” x 14”. ScoopFree Free litter trays do not include lids and can be nested, allowing them to be stored in a smaller space.
How do I change the litter tray? When the litter is saturated or the waste trap is full, simply place the cover on the used litter tray and throw it away. Replace the used litter tray with a new one.
How can I make the trays last longer? ScoopFree litter trays won't last forever, but each tray can give you up to 30 days of freshness without scooping. Have at least 1 litter box per cat. Many experts recommend having 1 litter box for every cat plus an additional litter box. 3 cats can use the same ScoopFree litter box, but you'll have to replace the trays more often and you might see litter box bullying.
I got this as a first time cat mom for a 6month adopted kitten. This box and litter was recommended by a friend. I started with the unit left unplugged to allow my little dude to get used to it, unfortunately for him he had diarrhea and so it got used a lot the first few days! The odor is nearly invisible, and that is saying a lot for his stinky diarrhea poops. It seems to do well raking the stool into the compartment. There was stool on the sides and back from his diarrhea and it was very easy to wipe clean (I used clorox wipe and the smell didn't seem to both my kitten). Very little tracking, and he is a long-haired cat, overall satisfied. It is more expensive but I am willing to pay that price to not have to scoop the litter box daily! I think this keeps the area nice and clean for him so he has had no problems using it. I took off one star for the high price and also due to some tracking of the litter/not always spreads the litter evenly.
This product used to be great. However the last three boxes have leaked all over my floor. The pee soaks through after a week with only one cat using the box. Not sure what change the company made but it is not working. We have had the system for about two years with no issues. But the new boxes are missing a plastic coating. Very unhappy with this change. If it is not fixed, I will replace the entire thing with another brand.
After seeing a lot of good reviews about the crystal litter, I decided to give it a try. We have two cats, and after doing a litter box change, and cleaning the litter box, (no cleaning products used, I only use dawn dish soap to clean the litter box), I then poured a bag of the PetSafe crystal litter in the litter box. We have two cats, and two litter boxes. One litter box has the tofu/litter. When I poured the brand new bag of crystal litter into the other litter box, our female cat got in and used it just fine. Our male cat got in two separate times and after, he was weezing with his tounge out a little bit. That kind of freaked me out a little. Even though crystal litter is supposed to be non toxic, there's something in it that is obviously causing him to have an allergic reaction. It might work good for other cats, but not for our guy. Watch your cat(s), if you have never gotten crystal litter before, watch and see how they react after getting out of the box. Maybe it's just my cat. But just monitor your kitties just to be on the safe side. Anyway, I won't be using crystal litter anymore. I hope it works for your kitties! I'm tossing out this crystal litter, and will back to using tofu litter.
I have used this litter for years and loved it. My most recent order was packaged differently (box is solid white) but the litter appeared to be the same. My cat hates it and won't use it. The formula seems to be different. For the cost it is a waste if my cat won't use it. Very frustratedl.
A bit loud. The scraping it does after poops is effective for the most part, some small turds left over. The litter needs to be spread out well or pee will leak through the box. That really made me mad.
Great item keeps the smell down and my kittens loves to play in the litter.already recommended the system to a friend
I received my 6 pack and within less than 2 weeks I already used 2 boxes because the crystals are not absorbing the waste from my cat which is only 1 cat. Ive purchased this several times before and have never had any problems like this
My grandson and I both noticed that the 2 boxes with white lids seem to contain less litter and did not contain the vinyl coating as with original.
I feel guilty, environmentally-speaking, but I LOVE not having to scoop the litter box daily anymore. Even though I have two cats, I can use one tray for a month. It's really easy - lift the cover off, put the old tray in a garbage bag, put the new tray down, put the cover back on. It couldn't be more simple. I was pleasantly surprised that my cats are not scared of it.
I have one cat and the litter lasts for about a month! it never smells and by the 3rd week the box starts to look more yellow as if it isn’t picking up all of the pee. I think it is a bit ridiculous of a price because i don’t even spend that much on human toiletries but it definitely gets the job done and works better than litters i’ve used in the past!
