When your life revolves around napping in the sun, it's easy to add an extra pound or two. But the vets have spoken: 50% of American cats need to slim down! The PetSafe SlimCat Interactive Feeder lets your cat play away the pounds while working for his dinner or treats. Pack the SlimCat feeding ball with your fur baby's kibble, and it distributes an adjustable amount of food as your cat bats and pounces.
SlimCat can be used by all cats and particularly overweight cats can benefit from the interaction.
By providing smaller portions of food throughout the day, it helps to maintain optimum weight as well as improve your cat’s digestion.
Improves behavioral problems such as excessive meowing, scratching or aggression.
Holds 2/3 cup of dry food or treats.
Dishwasher safe, BPA-free plastic.
†Capacity is calculated by total volume. When using container, choose a capacity greater than what you need to prevent overfilling and spills.
This Interactive feeder just didn't work for me. The kibble I use is, I guess, the wrong size? When I adjusted the hole size it was either way too big and a bunch of kibble fell out, or too small and it was almost impossible to get anything out. My cat was completely baffled by it and not in a good way. I read all the positive reviews so I know I'm in the minority, but this was a fail for my kitty and me. I gave it 2 stars because it was constructed of very sturdy plastic and was a cute color.
Great for boredom eating
on Dec 4, 2021
Our male cat would go in the kitchen and sit there and eat and I started realizing he would do it when he was 'bored'. Our female is a nibbler so she wasn't getting much food. These helped immensely. Our male picked these up really fast and loves rolling them around the kitchen. More than one piece falls out cause he rolls them hard, but he has to follow them around. Our female took a little bit to pick up using these, but they work for her too since it only drops about as much as she eats in a sitting.
Worth the mess
on Dec 27, 2021
This is easy to fill, easy for my cat to use, keeps him entertained (and therefore out of trouble), and easy to wash. It does make a mess, so I don't use it for every meal, but it's worth it a few times a week. Would recommend it.

Well we had one cat that really like this item. However, our current cat just sniffs it and makes no effort to roll it so hasn't figured out there are treats inside. Like the treats but not inside the ball!! Go Figure!!
Cats love it!

I bought this for one of my cats who eats too fast and vomits. He absolutely loves this toy and it is successful in getting him to eat slower. It’s much better than the slow feeder bowls, which were just frustrating him. He actually seems to have fun with this. I like that you can change the size of the holes to make it harder or accommodate larger food. Also works great as just a toy - my other cats are jealous and try to play with it even when empty. Bonus it comes in fun colors.

This product works as advertised. It doesn't hold much, but seeing as I'm trying to slim my kitty down, that's not really a problem. I don't know that she "loves" it, but she bats it around to get her kibble out. The dog seems very interested in it, so I may have to get one for her, too!

Ok so it may not be sturdy as steel, but that’s ok, be gentle with it, it’s just cheap plastic. The concept is great if your cat likes to play with toys. Diamond doesn’t play with one toy I’ve purchased for them. Mocha is selective, but at least she’s enthusiastic when she zeros in on the toy she likes at the moment. So neither of them bats this thing around like I thought they would and really only Diamond kinda pushes it gently until a piece of food or two fall out. Then she eats those and pushes it again, just enough to make a couple more pieces fall out. Kinda boring and definitely not any real exercise. She gets more from just running around the yard chasing her daughter for the couple ofOk so it may not be sturdy as steel, but that’s ok, be gentle with it, it’s just cheap plastic. This is great, feels like high quality plastic. I love that it's "adjustable." you can rotate the circle to make the openings larger or smaller.....depending on how difficult you want to make it for your cat. One of my fosters hasn't figured it out so I'm leaving it on "easy" until she learns. The openings are big enough that her food comes with very little motion. She's starting to figure it out!!! I'm getting a 2nd and 3rd for my other fosters....this will keep them occupied at night!

Unfortunately neither of my cats showed even the slightest interest in this ball.

One of my two cats gobbles his food. This is for dry food and it forces him to eat one at a time instead of his usual gobbling like a hungry dog.
