It definitely keeps the little monster busy for a little while. I like that it's adjustable, however, we are already at the most difficult setting and he already has it mastered after only a couple of weeks! It hasn't really slowed him down, so I don't know about portion control but for a cat who isn't rediculously smart and determined to eat everything in sight maybe.... I will say it has become harder to adjust the difficulty over time. Crumbs have gotten between the two pieces of plastic, making it not as smooth when adjusting the holes. Not enough to be a real issue, but somewhat annoying. … more

There was a small crack in one of the connecting tabs but the ball went together. Unfortunately my 8 year old just wasn't interested in batting it around. She'd just nudge it with her head to make a piece of food come out rather than batting and chasing it. That's cats for you.

Great for food soccer.
By FoodBall on Jan 22, 2021
My fat cat likes to gorge on kibble and the kittens are following his example. This is a great way to get them to work for their food, they picked up on how it works quickly. Minus the Poofy brother, he’s kinda dumb and just leeches off his brothers’ hard work. Definitely getting another one.

Great for greedy eaters
By Great on Jan 18, 2021
I have two cats, one of them eats his food and then eats his sister's food. This helps him pace himself but he also plays with her so she gets food too. It also keeps them busy for about half an hour!

Great feeder to slow down eating
By Babs on Jan 15, 2021
I got this for my cat who gobbles his food down quickly and then throws it up. This has slowed down his eating, he's some weight and it makes him 'work' a little for his food. Great find!

Great for food-motivated feline
By Janelle on Jan 12, 2021
I recently adopted a three-year old cat who is very food motivated. I bought this to slow down his eating and give him a challenge. I don't know how much exercise it's giving him, although it's definitely more than sitting at his bowl would. I wish the two halves came apart for better cleaning, and it's not the heaviest duty object, but I think it was a good purchase.

It’s Working
By Dmgfloss on Jan 11, 2021
I purchased this to get my skinny cat to stop eating so fast and puking! For my fat cat to get some excercise! They adapted to it quickly and after 2weeks only one incident of puking.

Great, simple product
By Nicole on Jan 2, 2021
Our vet recommended a puzzle feeder for our cat to decrease her weight and also provide mental stimulation. This feeder is super simple, yet effective. Now my cat eats when she’s truly hungry, not just bored. She figured out how to access her food right away. And the kids enjoy watching her nudge the ball with her head to dispense her food. Definitely a good purchase!

Great Puzzle Feeder for Fast Eaters
By PuzzleFeeder on Dec 29, 2020
One of my cats eats each meal like its her last. I bought this puzzle ball hoping it would slow her down.... because eating super fast doesn't bode well with her tummy. I wasn't sure if she would be interested because she doesn't go for normal cat toys, but boy was I wrong. She loves her puzzle ball and she looks super cute pushing it around! I fill it with a mix of her normal food and a few treats to keep her motivated to use it.

Good for food motivated cat
By Megan on Dec 28, 2020
I adopted a former stray (adult) kitty. She has a serious obsession with all food - human included. This has helped slow her down. I do wish the hole could be a little smaller. The kibble I used easily falls through the holes on the smallest size. :/
