One of my cats is a horrible countertop surfer, built like a brick and too smart foe his own good. He eats foil, couldn't care less about water and eats everything and anything. This product has been the only thing that works on him and keeps him away from the countertops. Air pressure is strong and the sensor is very sensitive. Only problem I would say is these cans do not last long with a determined or stubborn cat.
When it works, it works well. Replacement canisters are a hit and miss. I just tried replacing one and the nozzle on the new one is a TINY bit too long so it starts spraying continuously when you try attaching the sensor.
I use this with a sensor to spray the compressed air to keep them from investigating cabinets I don't want them in...just a gentle PSSTkeeps them out without hurting them.
The refill I ordered was not compatible with my current system, as the person below mentions it was continuously hissing, I recognized that the replacement had a blue stem, the ones I had in my original units were white stems. The blue stem is slightly longer, so it is continuously being depressed, if the unit is placed properly, there's nothing to do about it, it's a longer stem than the original. going to try again to order this, it's still itself a great product, and maybe i can figure out how to shave off a few mm from the stem to make it still fit.
I've used these training tools since I adopted my cat and they're great overall. However, when I bought this refill it didn't work with either sprayer head I had, even with brand new batteries.
It definitely works to keep our cats away but about every month we have to replace it with a new can.
Trying to replace this thing but it won’t stop hissing and leaking. Attempts to troubleshoot ended in being blasted with ice cold air — painful and really annoying. I’m just trying to keep my cat off my TV — the first one worked great. Not sure the issue here.
This thing is sensitive! We'd be walking around it in a yard+ radius and it still sprayed at us! Turning it off every time we needed to walk by was not practical because of how high traffic the area was around the furniture we wanted to keep the cats off. Plus every time you turn it back on it sprays once or twice to "calibrate" which scared the cats who were minding their own business elsewhere in the room. We finally figured out we should just turn it to the side when walking by. Good news, the cats don't get on the dresser anymore and we're using the refill can to train them off the nursery furniture before baby #1 arrives in a few weeks. So not bad, effective, if not too effective.
This is just a refill canister for a great product to dissuade your cat from jumping onto tables.
I have purchased this in the past but now the aerosol does not dispense. I should have purchased this elsewhere.
