What is the return policy on this item?
Will this harm my sulcata tortoise? Our cat likes to urinate in his bed.
I was wondering if it can be turned off and on. I am planning to use it on my kitchen counters and don't want it going every minute while I'm cooking.

There is a switch to turn on and off the motion sensor.
My husband purchased the ssscat N13506 spray with motion sensor. Are refill canisters available? I didn't see any on the website.

Safety Alert - Dangerous To Health

According to the product label on the PetSafe SSSCAT can it contains a gas called 1,3,3,3-Tetrafluoroprop which is a hydrofluoroolefin and was developed as a "fourth generation" refrigerant according to Wikipedia. The product warning label on the box and the safety alert in the booklet indicate that the gas is dangerous to lungs, eyes and skin. It also warns to keep children away from it. Since it is dangerous for humans, there is no way that I would use this product to deliberately spray refrigerant into the face, eyes, nose and possibly open mouth of my fur babies, and that is exactly what this product is designed to do! (The older version that I had years ago used compressed air)

Dissapointing.

I had high hopes for this product. I saw one on tv and figured it may be the answer to the cat always jumping on the counter. I purchased it, and it started out great. It seemed to be doing the job and the cats were avoiding the space. Then within just one week of purchase the item died. I tried replacing parts and changing batteries... no luck. For the price this thing is there is zero reason it should just die a week after receiving it. Don't waste your time or money. Chewy refunded me which is nice... but now the cats are back on the counter again. :/

Cat Is Brat, but this works.

Wonderful, but I probably will give it a 4.5 until or unless I manage not to waste spray after spray positioning it in window sill. It worked and deterred her with one relapse a week later, so far. My problem is positioning the motion detector so I can open drapes or move can. Shall persist and am planning to budget in another one for another location. But may need refill as I scat my hand more than cat. Wonderful device!

Brilliant!

I have 3 cats, and work from home. One of them kept getting on my desk overnight and knocking things over. This did the trick with one caveat. It doesn't go off immediately so the next day I found more damage than usual. I assume it happened when she was escaping. I got to see it in action as well. I had laid out a wool sweater to dry and all the cats kept getting on it. I set this up to guard the sweater and saw her get the shock of her life when it hit her from behind. I assume there are some cats who don't care about being sprayed with water. This won't work for them. All 3 of our cats respond immediately to just the sound of a spray bottle.

Great in theory.

It did catch and scare the kittens off the counter once, which was super satisfying to see. However, most of the time the kittens jump up there the sprayer doesn't go off. But it would when me or my partner walked by like 6 feet away. So the can is basically empty within a few days. I had such hope, as my kittens are driving me batpoop cooky bananas with their counter antics, so I'm pretty disappointed.

Touchy hisser

Got this because my too smart for my own good lemur cat insists on getting on the kitchenette counter and trying to burn the house down with the electric kettle. I was using clear menu stands to keep her at bay but thought this might actually allow me to use the counter again. Blocking her off blocks me, too. So, we got this. And it works. Sort off. It had to be angled just so, sometimes it goes off and sometimes she sits in front of it and meows to let me know it isn't working. Its about 50/50 shot of it working and she's figured it out lol.

It works, but it’s expensive

I recently rescued an 8 year old cat that is absolutely food crazy. This product works wonders but holy cow is it expensive. I need at least 3 of them (I would honestly prefer to have more but cannot afford to refill more) to keep her off the counters and tables. Like I said, they work great, but I need to buy refills every week. 3 refills at $17 a piece per week ($51/week) is not feasible for me. I am hoping after a while she will get the idea and stop going up there but at this point I’ve already had to buy 12 refills. That’s approximately $204 (not to mention the $150 to buy the first 3) and I’ve only had them a little over a month. As someone who is in her early 20s, pays all her own bills, and already has to have her 3 cats on a urinary care prescription diet, I am so disheartened by the up charging of something I know is so much cheaper than that to make. Unfortunately it’s the only thing that works on my little psychopath so I have to keep paying for it, but it’s criminal.

Broken within a week

It was working for a week and then it just started spraying non-stop. I turned the sensor off, took the batteries out, nothing stopped it from spraying. Finally I took the top off the can, but when I put it back on it just starts spraying again. This item is too expensive for it to break within a week. Complete waste of money.

Poor Quality Products

Does not work well. The sensor goes off randomly and sprays nothing. It also doesn’t work when my cat was right in front of it. It’s a very frustrating product to use.

If only it didn't stop working...

When these work, they are great. The problem is the heads just stop working. New can of air, the batteries are replaced and it just doesn't work. They are way to expensive to basically be disposable. I am so disappointed.
