Time & patience, it does work.

    By on

We use this for our 6 month old Golden Retriever. It took 2x of getting shocked on #4 setting & he has been doing great on it. Every once in awhile he will try to see how far he can go & then he hears the beeps & decides to come back in our yard.

    This thing is great

    By on

We have a 8 month old border collie with insane herding instincts, and this thing has kept him from herding the deer in the woods behind our backyard. Its great! I love that there was no digging and took very little time for setup. I would definitely recommend it.

    Was hoping it would eitk

If it’s too good to be true, it probably isn’t. We set up this system with high hopes. We have trained our dog for two weeks. He is a smart dog and has learned everything else I’ve taught him quickly. However, this system doesn’t give him the shock so he will understand not to go past the flags. It beeps, but no shock. Not going to work.

    Transmitter arrived malfunctioning

    By on

I have used these fences before and really liked them. Unfortunately, I plugged my transmitter in and it started emitting one long, loud continuous tone. In the trouble shooting book it said “your transmitter isn’t working, call for a new one”. unfortunately, I especially neededthe fence over the holidays but I will now get it this month and have to locate a fed ex drop off to return the broken one. The company (Pet Safe) was pretty easy to work with

    Not for high energy dogs

    By on

Had high hopes, but not for our high energy destructive fur dog. He acknowledges the collar beep and bite and runs right through the designated area. Took all flags out of ground and chewed them up as well.

    Energy bill went up

Our dog ran away every single time we took him outside... wether it be time for him to potty or go for a walk, he’d bolt out the door or find a way to get off the leash. Numerous time we chased him down or drove around our neighborhood screaming his name and it took us hours to find him, each day. We heard about this product because a customer of ours uses it on their German Shepherd and she was the most well behaved dog I’ve ever encountered. We purchased the system, charged up the collar and then set the boundary on the dial to figure out where to install the flags. After everything was set up, of course our dog goes bolting out of the door and gets zapped at the boundary line. We had to pull him back over into the safe zone and then he walked calmly next to us as we showed him the flags and showed him his boundary lines around our yard. He’s attempted 6 times to get out and each time, he gets zapped and comes rite back up to the house. It’s been 8 days since we purchased it and in the past 6 days, he has NOT even got within 10 feet of his boundary line. This product works!!! The ONLY reason I gave it 4 stars is because our power bill went up by $3 extra every day. On average we use $4 per day on our energey bill and since we plugged this machine in, the bill has been $7 per day. This will almost double my energy bill each month... I will be unplugging this device and not using it any longer. … more

    Didn't Work For Us

    By on

    1. My backyard has a small down slope hill where there are spots that the radar wouldn't beep/correct. I tried changing the height of the transmitter to many different heights (floor, 1ft, 2ft, 3ft, 4ft) and it still didn't work. 2. The transmitter was no where close to any large appliances (at least 10 ft away) and there was still interference. This caused spots where the radar wouldn't beep/correct. 3. The circular radar would expand and retreat about a foot (with zero placement change to the transmitter), leading to the training flags being completely useless. It's difficult to train my dog on where the radar is if it's constantly changing. 4. I luckily have a dog that doesn't run away 1. There are multiple variables where the radar doesn't even work, leaving open spots. I will be returning this item and installing the WIRED invisible fence instead. This WIRELESS one has consumed so much of my time because I assumed it was something I was doing wrong. After reading many reviews online these are common problems for this device. Save yourself the time and energy and just install the wired one, or an actual fence if that's an option. … more

    Staying in the yard

    By on

It works very well she stays within the perimeter. Within 2 days she had the boundaries down pat. Needed only the lowest setting for correction. I don't have to worry about her going into the neighbor's yards or in the street. We have the freedom to play off leash without the worry and work on her verbal commands too. Best part it is portable too so wherever you go you can set it up and keep your pet safe.
