I'm beyond disappointed with this. After 6 months the paint was peeling off, after 1 year now everything is literally falling apart and rotting. The roof is wobbly and the trim is falling off, the whole thing is so rotted and wobbly pieces fall off every time I touch it. I like to check on it once in a while cause the floor inside always falls down and I check for spiders. The ladder broke off 4 months ago, the escape door fell off because one peg of wood just rotted and broke one day... I have 3 indoor cats. Who are allowed to go in the yard to play when I'm out... They hardly use it, but once in a while they like to lay on the top patio area... So with very little use, and only having this for 1 year it's essentially ready for the trash. I just tipped it over to fix the floor panels for the 20th time, and a piece of roof trim fell off and the walls shifted all over I had to be very gentle or else I'm sure the entire thing would collapse. Very disappointed in the quality for the price this tiny house was. Didn't even last a year.
Directions were poor at best. Finally got it together even tho missing several screws and had to improvise. It says "outdoor", but finish is not suitable for outdoors. Looks cute completed, but had to treat it to sustain outdoors.
I've had this on my back deck for several years now for an outdoor cat that adopted me. She uses the upper deck all the time but had never used the lower enclosed area. A design change I would recommend is having the escape door on the opposite side. The two doors are to close together and something coming in could easily trap a cat in the far corner blocking both doors.
This is a really nice product and was easy to assemble. You probably need longer screws to attach the roof. It is sturdy and looks nice. My adult cats are 18 lb and 12 lb and barely fit on the upper deck so i had to take the roof off. They like to sit on the upper deck but haven't shown much interest in going inside yet.
Thought this would be great for my ferals. However, the roof has rotted and is collapsing. The joints have weakened and are making use of the house unsafe. Looking for a better built house that will last more than 6 months. Looks great but made cheaply.
