I don’t see any beef flavoring listed on the ingredients despite the flavor being London broil. My dog has a diagnosed beef allergy. Is this safe for him to use?

What is the “flavor” sourced from? My dog is allergic to chicken so I need to make sure there is no chicken based ingredients in this product. Thanks.

Petsmile does not use animal derivatives to remain hypoallergenic and the flavor is a proprietary blend of liquid spices.

Buying 2nd Tube

Thank you, Chewy, for now carrying this toothpaste. Fortunately, Curly likes the taste and it seems to be removing plaque, which is my main goal since she is a rescue dog that had no dental care before we got her. I have to protect the few teeth she has left! I like that it has the Veterinary Oral Health Council (VOHC) seal for plaque control (“clinically shown to provide a 62% reduction in plaque”), and even if Curly doesn’t let me brush all of her teeth, it still works if the toothpaste is in her mouth, or she licks it off the toothbrush. I’m buying the bigger tube.

I was worried when I read the reviews about this that my cats would not take to it. The Internet said this was the best kind of toothpaste to use for them and normally they are abnormally comment excepting of their daily teeth brushing with the other toothpaste I was using. I gave this new one a try and I was prepared for a battle but nope. They all took to the London broil toothpaste just fine and we’re as calm as ever during their daily brushing. I am so happy and impressed that now I can switch to a better quality toothpaste for them that may be more effective. I also purchased the sea cheese version of this and that one I will try tomorrow and see if they are equally as excepting. So I’ll let everyone know tomorrow how it went but so far so good and everyone is very happy with the London broil pet smile toothpaste.

doesn’t like the flavor

Everything I have read about this brand and paste is stellar so I gave it some stars but my dog (who is not usually a picky eater) won’t have anything to do with it. I have tried several times to put a little bit on my finger to let her taste it. She takes a sniff and turns away, yet she is happy to lick peanut butter from my finger. I guess London Broil isn’t for her.

My dog is not a fan

Unfortunately my pp will not go near it. He doesn't seem to like the smell so I didn't even get to try it. I am sure it great for pups who like this flavor/smell. I will have to return it.

Almost good

I brush my dogs teeth every single time, or at least 5 times a week. I have went through many of the best and most recommended pastes just to see what works and really is the best. I found this product as a VOHC approved product and it was said to really help clean the teeth; however, the flavor was an absolute no for my dog. He is very used to brushing his teeth but this product really discouraged him as it was not very tasty. Other than that, it could be a great toothpaste but it didn’t really meet my expectations, it didn’t seem to clean up to my expectations as I have seen other pasts with much better cleaning effects and delicious flavors!

Like it so far

This product was recommended by a veterinary dentist, and so far my dogs don't hate it. So it must taste better than other dental products I've tried using and I just apply it with my finger.

the best toothpaste

I switched to this toothpaste for my dog after noticing her gums were becoming a bit inflamed around the teeth, even after consistent use of other another brand. She also eats a very nice brand of human grade fresh dog food. This brand is a game changer. Her gums went from inflamed and rws to being back to relatively normal after about a weeks worth of daily brushing with this toothpaste. Nothing else changed besides this new toothpaste in her routine.

It's ok but won't purchase again

Dog likes the taste. I've only been using it for a few weeks and I don't notice a big difference in his teeth. I won't be purchasing again as it is rather expensive and I don't see any major improvement.

Tastes better than the other brand

So I bought both kinds of dog toothpastes, that enzymatic one and this one. My dog definitely likes this one more. I have not used it enough to know if it is really good or not, but when I used it the first time a bunch of brown stuff came off her teeth so I am going to believe this is a better toothpaste.

Flavor Not a Hit!

I opted to try this toothpaste because it's the only toothpaste with the VOHC seal, so I bought the smaller tube. I thought it was pricey, but I was happy at least one flavor was sold at a cheaper price. I do wish I could've bought a sample. I've been brushing my Sheltie's teeth since he came home as a puppy, and was using an organic dog toothpaste I bought--but the enzyme technology with this intrigued me. So, I usually brush with the organic toothbrush and add rub this on his teeth when I'm done, because brushing with this isn't necessary. My boy isn't in love with the flavor, I wish a vanilla was available--because he tends to like sweeter flavors vs meat-inspired. I think its probably working, but he has some black discoloration on the gumline of two teeth, the same tooth on each side, that I was hoping this paste would erase, but it hasn't happened yet. I'm almost done with the tube, so I may try another flavor before giving up entirely on this brand.
