Instructions

Not for use with aggressive dogs. Do not use this Product if your dog is aggressive, or if your dog is prone to aggressive behavior. Aggressive dogs can cause severe injury and even death to their owner and others. If you are unsure whether this product is appropriate for your dog, please consult your veterinarian or certified trainer.

Risk of skin damage. Please read and follow the instructions in this manual. A collar worn for too long or made too tight on the pet’s neck may cause skin damage. Ranging from redness to pressure ulcers; this condition is commonly known as bed sores.

  • Avoid leaving the collar on the dog for more than 12 hours per day.
  • When possible reposition the collar on the pet’s neck every 1 to 2 hours.
  • Check the fit to prevent excessive pressure; follow the instructions in this manual.
  • Never connect a lead to the electronic collar; it will cause excessive pressure on the contacts.
  • When using a separate collar for a lead, don’t put pressure on the electronic collar.
  • Wash the dog’s neck area and the contacts of the collar weekly with a damp cloth.
  • If a rash or sore is found, discontinue use of the collar until the skin has healed.
  • If the condition persists beyond 48 hours, see your veterinarian.

Training Tips

  • PetSpy Dog Training Collar is not design to be worn constantly. We recommend you to limit collar usage just for active Training Sessions. Always take off the collar when you leave your dog unattended.
  • Most dogs will feel uncomfortable when wearing collar for the first time. Don’t use any commands until your dog has gotten used to the collar which will normally take several days.
  • Eliminate one unwanted action or teach one obedience command at a time. If you move to quickly with training, your dog may become confused.
  • Be consistent in your training. Give your dog the same stimulation for each unwanted action. We suggest you to use Vibration Stimulation before starting the Static Shock Stimulation. If you follow this training method, your dog will learn that Static Shock Stimulation might come after Vibration. Hence, the Vibration Stimulation alone can effectively cure unwanted behavior of your dog.
  • Do not over-correct. Use as few stimulation as possible to train your dog.
  • Following a predefined scenario in all Training Sessions can dramatically improve your chances of success.
  • Should your dog react to the training by hiding or reacting fearfully, redirect his attention to a simple command such as “Speak” or “Sit” to calm him down. Use treats to help your dog understand which commands have been done correctly.

While the Receiver Collar is waterproof, the Remote Transmitter is not and must be kept in a dry place! Water can irreversibly damage the Remote Transmitter!

Troubleshooting

My PetSpy Premium Dog Training Collar is not working?

  • Make sure that both the Remote Transmitter and Receiver Collar are fully charged.
  • Move or shake the Receiver Collar to make sure that green LED light starts flashing every 4-5 seconds.
  • Please follow the steps from Synchronizing Remote Transmitter with Receiver Collar paragraph to make sure that transmitter is in sync with the collar.

Maintenance & Storage

  • When not used, PetSpy Dog Training System must be kept in a dry place just like any other electronic devices.
  • To prevent batteries from damage, charge both the Transmitter and Receiver regularly even when it’s not used. Make sure you do not charge it for longer than 30 minutes.
  • Clean the receiver and contact points weekly.
  • Check your dog’s neck for irritation weekly.
FAQ

Is PetSpy Receiver Collar waterproof? Answer: Yes, the Receiver Collar is fully waterproof.

Is PetSpy Remote Transmitter waterproof? No, the Remote Transmitter must be kept away from water.

Once my pet is trained does he have to continue to wear the collar? You might have to reinforce training with the collar from time to time.

How long can I continuously deliver Vibration or Static Shock to my pet? The max amount of time you can deliver the Vibration or Static Shock to you dog continuously is 10 seconds. The remote transmitter will time out and the Vibration or Static Shock button must be released and pressed again.

While it is fine to use the Vibration for up to 10 seconds, it is highly recommended to limit the continuous Static Shock delivery to no more than 3 seconds (the smaller the dog the shorter it should be).

What should I do if my dog’s neck becomes red and irritated? Stop using the product immediately for at least 48 hours. If the condition persists beyond 48 hour please consult your veterinarian.

Can I attach a leash to the Receiver collar? No, this can result in pulling the contact points to tightly against your dog’s neck. Use a separate collar when needed.

How long can I leave a Receiver Collar on my dog? The Collar is not design to be worn continuously. We recommend the collar to be worn only during training sessions or other outdoor activities.

How long should the training session be? Training sessions should be kept short and positive (10-15 minutes).

  • Extremely Poor Design

I've had two of these because Chewy was nice enough to give me another one when I complained about the issues the first time so I feel confident now in saying that this is a really poor product! Small annoyance is that the battery indicator has never worked on either one I had, always says the collar is fully charged when when its dead. But the big complaint is the "Sleep Mode"! The collar goes to sleep if you don't use it for a few minutes and it claims that it will "wake up" when pressing a button however you have to press a button continuously for anywhere from 5-12 seconds for it to wake back up and when your dog is taking off after something, thats a really really long time and it defeats I've had two of these because Chewy was nice enough to give me another one when I complained about the issues the first time so I feel confident now in saying that this is a really poor product! • I would recommend this to others if they use it correctly.

My Australian Shepherd wanted to herd cars and we tried everything we could think to train her otherwise. I was scared for her life. In less than a week, she has not only stopped doing that but as soon as she hears a car she runs to me, not out of fear, and sits in front of me ready for her treat. I truly think this system has saved her life. I rarely ever use the actual shock. She is so much more receptive to my voice now and all she ever needs is a beep if she is ignoring me. I would recommend this to others if they use it correctly. I only use the shock for life or death situations like her trying to herd cars.

got this training collar for our golden! works great with the beep and vibrating mood. haven’t had to use the shock button once yet. got it to help train her to stop jumping and chasing the cats working so far.. as far as those who stated that batteries don’t last long well cause the higher the level setting you use it will use more power and if you drain the battery of course you will have to re sync it! so don’t let those bad reviews fool you. rad the directions first it explains it all. over all this training collar is great!!

  • Attention requested attention received

I have one for each of my bassets. Barkers that they are. the last remotes that I hade had finally after 4 years given up the ship. I needed something that would change things up and OH MY DOG. the Vibration on these ROCKS. the beeper they usually listen too, However that vibration makes them stop right now and break the focus on whatever they are barking at. This remote has 100 levels for each beep, vibrate and shock. I am only on 10 for one dog and 20 for the other, Abner is a hard case, I LOVE the Vribration, Thank you for offering that option PetSpy

  • It works well

    By on

We got this because our yard is not fenced and we live off of a highway. Our pit is very inquisitive and ill mannered outside the house. Sometimes he would walk right up to the highway. This device is very effective for my 65 lb Pit Bull. We have only had to use the vibration setting so far, and we don't have to turn it all the way up. Level 50 to 70 gets the job done. Now all we have to do tell him to come inside and as long as he has the collar on he listens. We didn't even had to use the vibration the past few times.

  • The Most Infuriating E Collar

    By on

My previous ecollar didn't have an on/off button. If it sensed motion, it automatically turned on. The controller had a sleep mode. You press once to wake it up and press again to make it function....this collar doesn't do that. You turn it on and if it is not used in a certain amount of time, it'll automatically turn off. So when my dog is behaving at the park and decides to eat something off the floor, it's basically useless if I didn't constantly use it from the moment it was turned on. I will be returning this item.

  • Don't Purchase This

    By on

I purchased this to help with obedience training for my Dachshund Mix. I'm all about safety first so I tried it on myself before I put in on my dog. The product is safe - harmful. My dog ended up wearing the collar and no matter what setting I used she seemed to enjoy getting beeped at, vibrated and zapped..... I got her to stop barking by using an online obedience class

  • Great tool!

    By on

I have been through several training collars before I go this one. All the others shared similar problems. They were crude, hard to operate and missing features that I thought were important. This one fixes all the problems. The controls are very clearly marked. You are not going to accidentally hit the wrong button and shock your dog. The transmitter and collar have batteries that are easily charged using the provided charging cable.

  • Happy with product!

    By on

This is a good product. My only complaint would be it’s a little difficult to get used to. We put both collars on our German shepherds and kept forgetting which collar was dog 1 or dog 2. The range goes from 0-100 so it takes a while to figure out what dog responded to which number. But once you figure everything out this is a solid product. And for the price it was well worth it.

  • For the price, pretty good so far

    By on

Have not checked out the range yet, but the 99 or 100 shock settings is kind of a joke. You have to set it at 60 before the dog feels it. But the price was very reasonable. I would buy another one if need be. The others by Garmin and SportDog (I have a Sportdog also, which I bought a few years back, and still love it - but can't afford another), are too pricey for me now.
