My dogs will not take anything mint.. i bought the mint Ptezlife and they run everytime i try to use.. does this one have mint? ( it shows mint in the list) does it have a salmom taste instead? Thank you

While this oral gel contains peppermint oil, it's formulated to taste like salmon.

Is this product gluten free? I am not sure about the grain alcohol?

This product is gluten free.
I bought this for my cat and will be starting to use it soon. It says for best results not to let them have food/water for 30 minutes after application. However, I need to know long AFTER they eat or drink can this be used? Also, it says my cat should have 1/8 tsp, is that per time used?

For best results, withhold food and water for at least 30 minutes after application. Pets may eat or drink prior to application. The suggested dosage is the recommended daily amount.

Great Dental Gel!!

My 11yr old chihuahua was getting “funny” about me brushing her teeth. I had been using Petzlife peppermint gel and she’d run when she knew it was toothbrush time! She’s sooo good now with the salmon flavor!! It did the trick

Great Product

My little man (Wrangler, 9 y/o Catahoula/Lab mix) was having a pretty significant amount of plaque and tartar build up on his molars. The doctor was recommending a teeth cleaning procedure be done to eliminate the build up. I was not too keen on having him put under anesthesia for a teeth cleaning. I took it upon myself to look for alternatives. While up in North Carolina for a ski trip last winter, I came across this product at "My Best Friend's Barkery", in Banner Elk. The young lady behind the counter highly recommended the product. I decided to give it a shot. I am a little more than 1/4 of the way through the 12oz bottle, and all the plaque on my little dudes teeth has complete dissipated. Highly recommend this product to anyone who may be in the same boat!

Dog and cat hate it

A friend of mine uses this stuff and loves it so I had high hopes. Both my dog and cat can’t seem to get past the peppermint smell. I am currently being shunned by them both for trying to give it to them lol.

My Dog Absolutely Hates it

My dog literally gags when I apply this to her teeth. I’ve tried positive reinforcement but it doesn’t matter. I get that it’s natural ingredients but it’s not worth making my dog gag which will eventually lead to her vomiting.

Cleaner teeth, better breath

Squirt twice into her food once a day, teeth are cleaner, no plaque, and best of all her breath is better. Highly recommend - be patient it take some time to work.

Cat is not able to get professionally cleaned due to heart condition

I have no idea what I didn't think of this until I found out my cat, Tommy, was falling apart. I used the spray years ago on a shih tzu I had. I'd do it once or twice per week to keep her mouth from completely turning orange and chunky again. Well, Tommy has a grade 4 heart murmur, hyperthyroidism, and his mouth was unlike anything I had ever seen. He has his professional cleaning less than 3 years ago, and it was amazing just how gross his teeth had become, from the molars to the incisors. He was getting tender as well, and when we couldn't schedule him for cleaning, I spoke with my other friend in the pet industry (we have chaotic Pet households and work it out online on our sites and social media) and she said PetzLife says it's multi-species. I read the labeling more carefully and I CAN USE IT ON MY CAT. It was right there on the shelf of my store where I work, and I was able to get it before sunset. My partner tried to give it to Tom with his finger, but I guess this finger was entirely too big because Tom panicked and attempted to remove it manually. For the first two weeks I was applying one pump twice daily to Tom's teeth with a standard cotton swab. Then over the next week and I half, drama has gotten the better of me and I have not been diligent about the twice daily, but at least have giving it to him 1x per day. Yesterday, his father found a piece of tartar in his empty food dish. I explained to him what it was, and honestly it is newer tartar because of the color, but it released itself without my dental scaling tool. The tender factor of his mouth has seemed to lessen quite a bit as well. I love that a professional cleaning being out of the question didn't shut the door on how I could help my cat. PetzLife is an option.

Best dog toothpaste

I have been using Petzlife for years on my Cavaliers and Aussies. Cavaliers are notorious for dental issues and at the age of seven my Cavalier had her first cleaning. Her teeth were in great shape. Glad to see that Chewy's now offers this.

PetzLife Oral Care Gel with Wild Salmon Oil

I previously tried to use the spray which smells like peppermint. I didn't know the gel also had peppermint in it. I thought it would smell or taste like Wild Salmon Oil.........my dog hated the spray and hates the gel just as much. She hides when she smells it and will not let me put it on her teeth. I'm sure it would work well if my dog would let me put it on her teeth..........

Misleading Flavor

I bought this item because I needed some preventative oral health products for my cat, gels have been good with her in the past, and the advertised flavor was salmon. Upon attempting to apply the gel, however, it had a strong peppermint smell, which seemed to be very offputting for my cat. I checked the ingredient list and found that while salmon oil was listed, so is peppermint oil; since the peppermint smell (and presumably taste) is so strong, I am having a very hard time getting my cat to take it calmly.
