For the correction of electrolyte depletion, metabolic acidosis and dehydration of dogs, cats and horses.
Possible side effects may include febrile response, infection at the site of injection, venous thrombosis or phlebitis extending from the site of injection, extravasation, and hypervolemia. If an adverse reaction does occur, discontinue the infusion, evaluate the pet, institute appropriate therapeutic countermeasures, and save the remainder of the fluid for examination if deemed necessary.
Inform your veterinarian of any other medications, vitamins and supplements your pet is currently taking before using Lactated Ringers. Some injectable medications are not compatible with this medication.
This medication should be used cautiously in animals with heart disease, obstruction of the urinary tract, kidney disease, as this may lead to overhydration.. Solution should be warmed to body temperature prior to administration and administered at a slow rate. This is a single dose unit. It contains no preservatives. Use entire contents when first opened.
Do not administer to horses by intraperitoneal injection. Do not administer to animals with inadequate renal function. Not for use in lactic acidosis.
Each 100 mL contains: 600 mg Sodium Chloride, 310 mg Sodium Lactate, 30 mg Potassium Chloride, 20 mg Calcium Chloride Dihydrate, q.s Water for Injection.
