We probably over treat our dogs so this mat is great. Dickens loves it, and does find all his treats but it takes him a bit of effort. So far sturdy enough for our 2.5 yr old black lab.
My dog is recently blind and deaf. I have been looking for ways to entertain her. This has proven to be an excellent tool to keep her busy and train her sense of smell.
This mat is so much nicer than I was expecting. It's very well made and has a nice sticky material on the back to keep it from sliding. I wasn't sure that this would hold my Whippet's attention, but he loves it.
Winter can get boring for dogs who are used to being outside all summer. Humans too. This is a nice little diversion for pups who have cabin fever. Our senior big dog just loves getting her dinner in this snuffle mat. Love watching her stick her snout down into the cups and root around in the loops looking for her dinner morsels.
My blind dog loves this mat!
This is a great mat. Good size. Has pockets and loops for plenty of hiding places. This is the first snuffle mat I'd purchased. I was concerned that the dog would be frustrated at having to "work" instead of just eating from her bowl but she loves it. I divide her meal into her regular bowl, slow feeder bowl and the mat. My plan was to let her eat from the bowls while I hid food on the mat but she had other ideas. Waited for me to fill the mat, played with that first, then finished her meal from the bowls. She's an anxious girl, doesn't like noisy balls or puzzles so this is a wonderful alternative for her.
This is great for sniffing fun for my 2 pups and my elderly dog enjoyed it as well. When they start sticking their nose up to eating from the bowl they almost always eat from this. This was one of the best things I bought for them. Now I just need one a little bigger to make it more interesting or maybe just get a second one.
Got this for my pig Betty. She just loves it and plays with it everyday. Of course after I fill with treats
I have a 4 year old, 55-lb rescue who's rather shy and doesn't actually know how to do "standard" things like play fetch or chase a flirt pole, if you can believe it. Sometimes she'll play with normal toys, but it's not often. Luckily, there's nothing unusual or unnatural to teach with a snuffle mat— you hide the treats or food, she sniff sniff sniffs just like she loves to do in the grass, she finds the treats and has them as a yummy reward! She has a great time sniffing for the treats I hide, and in just a couple uses she's already loving it! This is an awesome way to give a dog some stimulation on a rainy day and it'll be nice to have in the winter when our walks are less frequent due to the snowy, icy conditions.
our dog lobo is almost 13, we've had him for about 3 years and he's never been very active, doesn't play, and spends most his time sleeping. i wanted to get something to engage him a little but (to put it nicely) he's never been very bright either, so normal puzzles are out of the question. we opted for a sniffle mat since i kept seeing ads on facebook and oh my gosh this is one of the best pet products we've ever purchased. we like to call him our little roomba because he's always sniffing around the kitchen and dining room after we eat for any crumbs so he got right to work with this snuffle mat and had it completely cleared out and crumb-free QUICK. it's been a couple weeks and this is the only way we can get him to eat now, he loves it SO much. hes actually been on a special wet food diet since april but we tried the snuffle mat with his old kibble (that he refused to eat after starting his diet) plus some training treats just to see if he'd actually use it and it worked a little too well. now he's refusing to eat his favourite wet food so we're looking for a silicone snuffle mat to switch back to wet and keep this one just for treats. overall this is SUCH a great product and lobo LOVES it soooo much, id recommend a snuffle mat to everyone for enrichment or just plain fun, especially if your dog acts like a little piggy rooting around for food like mine does!
