The best so far
By DeeMD on Feb 2, 2021
I’ve been trying different litter brands for the past year and this one outranks the other brands. What is a deal breaker for me is the fragrance and the dust. Those two irritates me and is not good for my asthma. I have gone as far as mixing two brands together but doing so, I could not tell which one was producing the dust. I find this one to be lightweight and no dust. It covers most of the smell but not all of it. I would prefer jugs rather than bags but so far, I haven’t lost any litter in the bags. The cats seems to like it and I will sometimes find them playing in it. The clumping is good but wish it could be better. I would definitely use this product again and would recommend I’ve been trying different litter brands for the past year and this one outranks the other brands. Not for Litter Robot
By Nickname on Feb 19, 2021
Turns into a soggy sticky urine glue and sticks to the bottom of my Litter Robot. Doesn't come off during cycles, just keeps building up in mass. I have to manually scrape out with a scoop. It also stinks really bad. Noticeable odor difference between the clay brand I use and this stuff. My whole apartment smells so bad. I ordered two bags but, despite how expensive it is, I'll donate the second bag to a shelter if I can't return it.

excellent product
By LeeCee on Feb 6, 2021
I've tried so many litter types and brands over the past decade and I finally found this one that checks pretty much ALL the boxes for me. I know I'm very picky when it comes to litter because I want one that feel comfortable on my elderly cats paws and for me it must be dust free, clumping, odor control and low or no track. The only reason I don't give this one 5 stars is the price. It is not the most expensive I've ever encountered by no means but I have 4 cats and 6 litter boxes so it is not cheap to keep up with the daily use. I highly recommend this product for the ingredients and efficacy.

Clumps well!
By CMDV on Feb 19, 2021
This works really well for clumping! And I like that it's a natural substance. It does track a bit more than my previous litter (a walnut based one) and it clumps so well that if my cat sits or steps in the wet litter, it gets stuck to his fur so that's why it's 4 stars instead of 5. But it is really good litter in general, I'm going to keep using it.

clumps great
By Wendy on Jan 25, 2021 Top 1000 Contributor
I wanted to use a natural litter instead of clay and tried all sorts, preferred one that wasn’t corn/wheat and this grass litter has nice scent and clumps well. I tend to mix this with other litters for better odor control or use baking soda. It does track a bit despite having litter mat and wished it came in a cardboard box instead of plastic. Appreciate that it comes in 5 and 10 lbs as 20 lbs just to heavy to carry around.

GREAT replacement for Fresh4Life eco grass NO DUST
By yippee on Jan 13, 2021
I previously used Fresh 4 Life eco grass litter, which was exclusive to the Pet Value chain of stores. Now that all of the Pet Value stores in the US have closed for good, I had to find a new litter. This litter looked very similar to the Fresh 4 Life and is also made of grass, and now that I’ve tried it I am certain this Smart Cat litter is the exact same thing as Fresh 4 Life. It is performing the same, so I am quite relieved that Chewy has this litter, as I had really liked the Fresh 4 Life eco grass. Now I have never, and probably will never, find the perfect cat litter that checks every single box. However, this litter does tackle the major issues I would have, the biggest being the I previously used Fresh 4 Life eco grass litter, which was exclusive to the Pet Value chain of stores. This litter has NO dust(just like the Fresh 4 Life) and therefore doesn’t get dust all over the place nor my cats having dust all over them and spreading around. It absorbs fairly well and keeps the smell to a minimum. It is a little lighter and drier than other litters, so it tends to act staticky when I pour it into the box. But there’s enough weight to it that my cats don’t tip over the box when jumping out. There is some tracking, but my cats do kick some out when jumping out of the box and some gets between their toes. I feel this is unavoidable no matter what litter I use, and I can tolerate it. I keep a large carpeted area under the boxes to help contain the litter and I sweep it daily and this keeps tracking to a minimum. This litter does not stick to their fur. I’ve had litters in the past that would stick to cat fur and from there end up on any surface the cat jumped on. All in all, this litter is as close to perfect as a litter can get for me. For those that used Fresh 4 Life eco grass litter from Pet Value and now have to find something else—Get this Smart Cat Litter! … more

love this litter
By Angelcatz on Feb 17, 2021
I love this litter. The pros are my home does not smell like catbox. Scoop every day and its great! Don't go a few days without scooping. The cons are that this litter tracks all over. Its so light and fluffy, it ends up all over. The order came in a timely manner.

Glad I made the switch
By Mandy on Jan 11, 2021
I like this litter so much better than traditional clay clumping litter. It clumps even better and there is no dust! Defiantly less mess left on the floor mat when my cat gets out of the box. Completely eliminated the odor!! I would have given five stars but the smell of the litter it self takes a bit to get used to... it’s not a bad smell just different. I only notice though when I’m scooping. Definitely worth trying if you are looking for something more natural for your cat!

Pretty Good!
By amandac on Jan 11, 2021
I bought this litter because it's more eco-friendly. It does track all over the place in a standard litter box. But, we have a top-entry litter box and I have been mixing this litter 50/50 with Dr. Elseys clumping clay. Overall, with this strategy, I am very happy. The grass litter does clump exceptionally well, and when you add the clay litter, odor is completely masked. The top-entry litter box solves the tracking issue (albeit the normal amount of stray pieces).

No Dust, Clumps Easily
By Linds on Feb 15, 2021
Been pretty pleased with this. Doesn't smell, clumps well, cats don't have a problem with it, no dust. Feels more eco friendly than clay. Looks like a 20 lb bag is gonna last about 3-4 months (we have one indoor cat and one indoor/outdoor, so like 1.5 cats using it?)
