If your kitty is finicky with litter, look no further! This Litter has no added perfumes or fragrances that could be offensive to cats. It clumps on contact by immediately absorbing urine. This quick clumping action traps the odor-causing bacteria, and odors disappear. Clumps will continue to harden and dry until all liquid is absorbed. SmartCat All Natural Litter works great on fecal odors as well. Your litter box will stay clean and odor free.

GREAT replacement for Fresh4Life eco grass NO DUST
By yippee on Jan 13, 2021
I previously used Fresh 4 Life eco grass litter, which was exclusive to the Pet Value chain of stores. Now that all of the Pet Value stores in the US have closed for good, I had to find a new litter. This litter looked very similar to the Fresh 4 Life and is also made of grass, and now that I’ve tried it I am certain this Smart Cat litter is the exact same thing as Fresh 4 Life. It is performing the same, so I am quite relieved that Chewy has this litter, as I had really liked the Fresh 4 Life eco grass. Now I have never, and probably will never, find the perfect cat litter that checks every single box. However, this litter does tackle the major issues I would have, the biggest being the I previously used Fresh 4 Life eco grass litter, which was exclusive to the Pet Value chain of stores. This litter has NO dust(just like the Fresh 4 Life) and therefore doesn’t get dust all over the place nor my cats having dust all over them and spreading around. It absorbs fairly well and keeps the smell to a minimum. It is a little lighter and drier than other litters, so it tends to act staticky when I pour it into the box. But there’s enough weight to it that my cats don’t tip over the box when jumping out. There is some tracking, but my cats do kick some out when jumping out of the box and some gets between their toes. I feel this is unavoidable no matter what litter I use, and I can tolerate it. I keep a large carpeted area under the boxes to help contain the litter and I sweep it daily and this keeps tracking to a minimum. This litter does not stick to their fur. I’ve had litters in the past that would stick to cat fur and from there end up on any surface the cat jumped on. All in all, this litter is as close to perfect as a litter can get for me. For those that used Fresh 4 Life eco grass litter from Pet Value and now have to find something else—Get this Smart Cat Litter! … more

Long lasting
By Jane on Dec 30, 2020
I love this stuff. Pros: It forms nice firm clumps. I scoop my boxes once a day. The litter does not break apart from my four cats pawing around. I’ve tried clay, corn, and walnut litters that are broken to bits by scooping time. It doesn’t smell. It has a slight grass scent, and I do not notice any urine smell if the boxes are scooped once a day. It lasts forever if I scoop everyday and top up as needed. My cats are healthy and parasite free, so I do not need to do a complete change out very often. I bought a bag of Pioneer Pet and a bag of Swheat Scoop, and Pioneer Pet lasts about a month longer. It does cost more, but it definitely outlasts less expensive litters. Cons: It tracks I love this stuff. Pros: It forms nice firm clumps. I scoop my boxes once a day. A large area around the boxes is constantly dusted in litter. I keep my boxes in my downstairs workshop, so by the time the cats have walked over a couple of mats and up the stairs into the house, their paws are litter free. I could see the tracking being an issue if you have to keep the boxes around your main living space. I would not buy this if I lived in an apartment. … more

Glad I made the switch
By Mandy on Jan 11, 2021
I like this litter so much better than traditional clay clumping litter. It clumps even better and there is no dust! Defiantly less mess left on the floor mat when my cat gets out of the box. Completely eliminated the odor!! I would have given five stars but the smell of the litter it self takes a bit to get used to... it’s not a bad smell just different. I only notice though when I’m scooping. Definitely worth trying if you are looking for something more natural for your cat!

Pretty Good!
By amandac on Jan 11, 2021
I bought this litter because it's more eco-friendly. It does track all over the place in a standard litter box. But, we have a top-entry litter box and I have been mixing this litter 50/50 with Dr. Elseys clumping clay. Overall, with this strategy, I am very happy. The grass litter does clump exceptionally well, and when you add the clay litter, odor is completely masked. The top-entry litter box solves the tracking issue (albeit the normal amount of stray pieces).

Best clumper, not great odor control
By Beth on Jan 5, 2021
This really is the best clumping litter I’ve ever used in over 30+ years. I got unscented because I didn’t want any scents that may put off our cat. She sometimes finds other places to go if she’s unhappy with the litter. And I add a herbal product to the litter to attract her to it and I didn’t want scents messing with that. The litter is very fine so a bit tougher for her to cover poo, therefore not covering the smell completely. I’m still very happy with this litter.

Best non-clay litter that I have found.
By BCreekOhioCatLver on Dec 26, 2020
This is the best non-clay cat litter that I have found. If you dump it slowly into the box there is hardly any dust. It also clumps and performs better than any other non-clay cat litter that I have ever tried, including corn, wood pellets, crystals (don't claim to clump), and sawdust. Don't vigorously shake the scoop when sifting, just apply a gentle vibration and the clumps stay mostly together. The smell is pretty good and my cat tracks less than he did with his clay litter.

Worked okay for two of three of our cats
By Jordan733 on Dec 5, 2020
Okay, it DOES track badly. I noticed this litter was so lightweight that it was all over the place when they got out of the box. AND, yes it does smell a little foul when they use the box. The litter itself is great. But it doesn't do much to make things smell fresh and lovely in a house with three fat, spoiled, often overeating cats. I clean the boxes twice a day...but still...it's cat litter. The problem really comes in for our third cat. She has long back-end and back leg hair, a fat little tummy, and short legs and body. She can barely reach around back there as it is. This is one of those litters that glues onto that hair in the back and doesn't like to let go easily. She can't Okay, it DOES track badly. What Molly Said
By Mollys on Jan 16, 2021
What Molly said about her Pioneer Pet, SmartCat litter. She feel like a Queen with the best comforts, No Smell, no Clumps, no Litter between my paws and I don’t track it around the house. So my Human can spend more time playing and brushing me instead of vacuuming. That makes me meowing good Molly

Dust Free Litter!!!
By Gabby1950 on Nov 30, 2020
Thank goodness! Finally a litter without dust, and one that all of my cats will use. Clumps great, very little scatter and no odor. I have 4 cats and scoop continually during the day, just because I believe that no cat should be subjected to another's mess. I used Tidy cat clumping litter for years, and always complained about the dust and how well it didn't clump, so I made it a mission to investigate other litters. I have one cat who would let me know that she didn't like them, by urinating on the floor by the box. I tried corn litter, and she wouldn't use it, so I went back to Tidy Cat, but my asthma started giving me trouble because of the dust. I was a little hesitant, but I finally Thank goodness! great cat litter, terrible delivery system
By Maddy on Dec 5, 2020
I’ve used this cat litter for my two males for several years now. They are loyalists and don’t appreciate a switch to anything else. It works great though It is expensive, so I was delighted to see it on sale. Unfortunately, for the 2nd time in a row, the box arrived with the litter broken open. In this case it had also gotten into the box of poop bags and the dog harness. With a 3 month old puppy, I had to be meticulous in clean up. I declined the offer of a replacement and asked for a refund. For the amount of work it took to clean up this mess, I will buy locally
