Pump Maintenance
Cleaning the pump is essential to the longevity of the fountain as well as the cleanliness of the water.
- Unplug the fountain.
- Remove the top bowl from the lower bowl.
- Unplug the power cord from the transformer.
- Remove the top cover of the pump housing and set aside.
- Gently lift the motor out of the cavity of pump housing. Suction cups on the bottom of the motor will hold it in place. A small amount of force may be necessary.
- Once the motor is out of the fountain, with your thumb and forefinger, gently squeeze on either side of the intake plate, and pull off. It may be necessary to insert a fingernail into the seam of the inlet plate to pry it open.
- Remove the stator by placing your finger nail under the small lip located on the narrow side of the tear drop shaped stator and pull out.
- Once the stator is removed you can also remove the impeller (three bladed propeller) which is held in place magnetically. To remove the impeller, use a fingernail to get under a blade and lift it out.
- Rinse well.
- Once the parts are clean you can reassemble the motor for use by replacing the impeller, stator and cover plate.

The fountain stopped working within a week
By Muneer on Aug 1, 2022
Had very high hopes when I bought this, my Bulmastiff isn't a fan of still water in a bowl and prefers fountains, houses, water bottles or even sprinklers. This arrived as a bit of a clumpsy setup, the lid, the wiring, the pump placement etc isn't a sturdy setup. My dog did accept it and drank out of it the first couple of days, and all seem good in return for my investment. But out of nowhere this just stopped working on Day 3, there is no flow out of the fountain. I have washed the filters, rinsed the bowls, checked the electricals on the pump, no not. Its just sitting here as an overpriced water bowl now.

Does the job, but…
By Kitty on Jun 24, 2022
I had high hopes for this fountain, but it has several problems: - it’s so loud, if it’s not absolutely full of water, it will scream at you - the motor gets dirty and slimy, and the built in filter doesn’t filter out the motor slime. You have to deep clean this thing like once a week, brush everywhere, including inside the motor itself, otherwise there will be grime and particles going around the fountain - the whole dish gets dirty so easily. Luckily since it’s steel you can scrub it with steel wool and clean it pretty easily, but you do have to scrub it often if you want your cat to drink out of a clean dish Overall, I’d recommend getting a different fountain that doesn’t get as dirty so I had high hopes for this fountain, but it has several problems: - it’s so loud, if it’s not absolutely full of water, it will scream at you - the motor gets dirty and slimy, and the built in filter doesn’t filter out the motor slime. Pretty good but not great
By Zoey on Jun 20, 2022
This is my second fountain since I have 3 cats now and not just 1 anymore. My kittens have no idea this is for drinking water out of but they love playing with the fountain and it keeps them entertained. They do like chewing the cord so I got a cord protector for it and that seems to help. The one drawback to this is that with frequent cleaning it's a pain to assemble and dissemble, especially with the cord protector on. I wish the cable could clip into the side of the fountain rather than having to run through a hole. Overall, I like this fountain as does my other cat who figured out how to drink from it. If I were to get another cat, I'd probably get another fountain.

Great bowl, pump is meh
By CrassMenagerie on Aug 1, 2022
I've had to replace the pump twice in two years. It's a little finicky to line everything up so the water comes out and if it's even a little low the water doesn't come out the top. I really like how easy it is to clean and disinfect, the size is perfect for my kitchen & dogs.

healthy happy animals

This is the second purchase of same product. Runs 24/7 have had for around 5 years. Easy to clean being stainless,, you do have to clean the pump. I don't use the filter but i clean the machine every couple days. 4 cats drink a lot of water. Great product. Clayton

Currently undecided
By Malachi on Jul 1, 2022
So far so good, just set it up. Love the design but the cord is submerged in the water? Is that normal? I'm also seeing a lot of reviews about the pump dying quickly which I guess is to be expected but instead of buying the replacement from Chewy why not look for other brands of tiny pumps to see which is the best quality? Problem solved?

Disappointed
By JoJo on Jul 17, 2022
It was difficult to line up the filter with the area the water exits. When I finally did it was hardly a “fountain” but more like a dribble. It took a couple of days for my cats to take interest in it. Two days later it stopped working completely.

This is garbage!
By TonyandJoey on Jun 12, 2022
We bought the first one. It lasted all of 3 to 4 days and the motor burned out. I contacted Chewy, who replaced it immediately. We got the replacement a few days later. We'll, guess what? The motor just burned out on this one Aldi. I read the other reviews and many other customers have had the same problem! It's too bad, it's a nice fountain, the motor is just plain garbage. I guess they'll be replacing this one also!

Attractive and quiet, but difficult to refill
By Toby on Jun 11, 2022
Overall, I like this fountain. The stainless steel looks nice and as long as you keep it full enough, it is nearly silent. My only issue is that the minimum water level is about a 1/2” from the edge of the bowl, so bringing the fountain to the sink to replace the water is nearly impossible without spilling water. Otherwise, though, I do like it. It just took a while for my cat to start using it.

Nice fountain but pump fails
By ValorieO on Aug 12, 2022
Bought 3 water fountains a year ago. Pump still works in one but failed in the other two. Looking at current reviews of the pump, the problem has not been fixed.
