Description

Losing a pet can be heartbreaking, but the Platinum Pets Pawsitively Safe Pet Finder Tag for Dogs makes finding your dog an easy and stress-free process. The durable tag is covered in a scratch- and water-resistant epoxy coating, and it has a unique code on the back. Once you enter this code on the Pawsitively Safe site, you can create a profile with your email and phone number. This info can be updated at any time, and there are no monthly fees for the profile. If your pup goes missing, you can generate a lost pet poster with your contact info to share with friends and neighbors via social media. In addition, anyone who finds your dog can enter the tag code online. You’ll be notified with a map that shows where she was found, and the finder will see your pet’s profile with one-touch links to call, text or email you. It’s the fastest and most reliable way to be reunited with your precious furry family member.

    Peace of mind

People sometimes don't think about how to locate their furbabies if they get lost, until it's too late! Better to be safe than sorry. However, the format of the website for the animal profile is a little strange and could be improved.

    Redundant dog tag

    By on

I don't know what I expected for 10$, but this is pretty much a dog tag, that requires finder to go to website (that works terrible, loggs all the time) enter the code and then, if finder will allow you will be able to see where the finder is. So instead of just texting a number on tag finder has to jump through loops in order to return your dog. It's not chip replacement, it's more like dog tag replacement, but more difficult to use. It doesn't sent you a map unless finder will go online, enter a code and allow to track his phone/ comp.

This is confusing and the site is not user friendly. I felt it was a waste of money.

    Doesn't last

Purchased this tag in September of 2017 for our puppy as a quick way to ID her until she was old enough to get a chip. Like the online national registry. In August, the tag fell off my dog's collar; upon inspection, the metal hook had worn thin & snapped. First time in 26 years owning animals this happened - never had a tag's hook wear thin like this. So I assumed it was an unusual occurrence. I contacted the company to get a replacement tag (& mentioned I would use an 's' hook for this one), & was told they wouldn't replace it due to normal 'wear & tear' but that I could buy a new one. Nice way to continue sales - we have to buy a new tag every year? Not me. I will find another way for quick ID, in addition to her name tag & chip. Sorry, but no recommendation from me for this tag. … more

    Not a replacement for Chipping!

    By on

Although I do think this is a great idea, especially bc once the code is entered, it automatically flags the location by gps of the user who entered the code (and presumably found your dog), this should never be considered an alternative or replacement for microchipping. Chipping is so important! It is a surgical placement yes, but done with local anesthetic and very quickly done and routinely done during neuter or spay surgery. The procedure usually costs less than $20. All shelter adoptions are adopted out with chips. Collars and tags can be lost or removed. Microchips are permanent and can be detected for the lifetime of your pet. Love the idea of this product

I think this is one of the best idea's out there. Instead of buying a tag with a phone number on it, it has an id# that you enter on a web site which then gives you the owners information (which can be updated in minutes say if you were traveling) This is such an awesome idea, I'd suggest this over a typical metal tag
