Step 1: Since both the inserts and covers are all 100% washable, first determine if you just need to clean the cover (shedding season, a little dirt, etc.) or the whole bed (oops, Fido had an accident).
Step 2: If it's just the cover, unzip and remove the insert, zip the cover securely and toss it in the washer and dryer! (We recommend cold water and gentle low heat cycle for the settings.)
Step 3: If the whole bed needs cleaning, toss it into the washer as is. (For best results, we recommend keeping the cover on.) This step is much easier with a front-loading machine or a top-loading machine without a center column agitator; with our large pet beds, we even recommend taking them to a laundromat or dry-cleaner to ensure that the insert keeps its shape. Do NOT force your P.L.A.Y. bed into a top-loading machine if it does not fit easily. Make sure to use the “low agitation” setting with cold water. We recommend washing your bed with a few other items like towels or blankets and please avoid items with sharp edges to prevent tearing. Putting the bed in a laundry bag may help.
Step 4: Lastly, pop the whole thing in the dryer! Keep the setting on gentle tumble-dry, low heat.

Good quality, washable

The bed is comfy and attractive, and my 18 pound dog likes it. You can wash the cover, and also (this seems unusual to be) the filler too. The size is just right for my dog, and it is 2 inches in diameter larger than his "dog's nest" made by another company, which cost about $30 more than this PLAY bed. A downside is that the bed is one sided, not double sided like the dog's nest. The top side is sturdy and tough denim, with the embroidered dog in the play position. The other side is a lighter fabric and a slit opened closed with a zipper.

OMG...I love this bed. My dog has chewed up every bed I have ever bought her. We got this one and on day one she climbed on it and went to sleep. She loves it and we love it. It keeps her off our sofa, it looks great and is stylish.

Wonderful Sturdy, Trendy Bed

I just bought my second of this bed for my second dog. I bought the first one 2-3 years ago for my Beagle/Cocker mix, and just bought one last week for my Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy, because we like the bed so much. The first one has only faded slightly since purchase. The bed arrives a darker denim than shown in the picture, and after 2-3 years it now looks like the picture and looks as though it came that way - looks brand new even with slight fading, and the fading is pretty evenly distributed. The dark indigo wash allows it to still look med-dark after several years. Good strong bed and looks nice, too.
