Too early for a review
By drNadine on Dec 1, 2020
I have an African Grey. She takes her time checking things out and feeling safe with them. I have this on the outside of her cage to exploration. She has gone to this perch during training sessions but not on her own. I feel it is just too soon to review so my stars just don’t count.

Tastes Like Strawberries
By Kath on Jan 9, 2021
This is a good perch for foraging and trimming of nails and beak that is not too hard on their feet. Polly's is a great brand for pedicure perches and a plus is the taste.

Seems small for an African grey

seems small for an African grey. I purchased what the size recommendation was for African Grey and it just seems really small.

Smaller than in picture
By DrBird1 on Oct 17, 2020
Item is significantly smaller than it is in the picture. In the pic, the label looks about half the size of the actual perch, whereas in actuality, the label is about twice as big as the perch. Very disappointed in this, especially for the outrageous price!!

Well accepted by my birds
By Dondi001 on Dec 27, 2020
My birds LOVE these perches. They were chewing on them within minutes of my placing it in their cages.

It took them a few days to get used to it, now it is their favorite chew.

Well made but my bird is scared of it!
By Crystal on Aug 3, 2020
This product is heavy duty and well made. However, my Eclectus parrot, who has never displayed fear of anything, is terrified of it. Not sure if it is the large size and/or the color. But he won't come near it and tries to get away from it as quick as possible. Not really the fault of the manufacturer but wanted to mention it. I wonder if a different color would be better.

2 in 1 perch saves money! Small and medium
By Alexandria on Apr 24, 2020
I purchased a size small for my new cockatiel and do not regret it. She initially was wary of the perch but after the second day she would happily sit on it and chew it. I am so happy. Combining a nail conditioning perch with a cuttle bone to receive calcium is a great idea and saves a lot of space. I would not put this near the water bowl, I have it on my cage door but if you put it near the food bowl then your bird will rub the sides of its beak while eating and condition its beak removing the keratin build up. I ordered a small for my cockatiel and a medium for my Pionus. I am unsure if it will be as effective wearing down toenails for my birds as a cement perch but time will tell. I liked it so much I bought a 2nd one. In any bird cage make sure you have a large variety of perches with different widths (but not too large for your bird) to avoid bumble foot. I combined this with JW comfy bird perch in the budgie and in the conure size along with some home made natural perches. … more

Baby Fischer's Lovebird
By 1FischersLovebird on May 19, 2020
My little lovebird Evo is roughly a month and a week old and had never been in a cage before. On his third day of exploring in his new cage, our Chewy package came in, and Evo immediately perched on his Small Watermelon flavored perch after its installation at the top of the cage. The grooves make it very easy to grip with his clumsy feet and are a major improvement from dowels; I'm glad I don't have to worry about him falling off again while sleeping. By Day 2, Evo has begun nibbling his perch and rubbing his beak on it on occasion. We're very pleased to have bought this product.
