Unfortunately these are different every time even within the same shipment.

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

We ordered 3 of these this time and have ordered them many times in the past, our dogs loved them, but recently our orders have consisted of 3 different types of jerky all labeled the same, one is light and thicker, one is dark and jerky like, and the other is dark and rolled flat, unfortunately neither dog will eat the ones that are rolled flat, according to the bags they all have the same ingredients, so Im not sure why they look differently and why our dogs won’t eat these when usually they gobbled up the other kind. Now we are afraid to order more because we don’t know which kind we will get?

Quality control issue? Not the same!

    By on Top 250 Contributor

I have ordered these Prairie Dog Smokehouse Duck Jerky several times in the past year. Each time (until our most recent order), they were crunchy somewhat hart treats that our dogs loved. The crunchiness took each dog a few minutes to chew, which was a plus in giving them out to multiple dogs. Our most recent order seems completely different, they are very soft, almost too moist even for jerky treats, and are crumbled in the packs with only a few larger pieces and the rest just crumbs. The treats almost seem wet they are so moist. Although our dogs still seemed interested, the only use for these crumbs is as a food topper, not treats as we purchased them to be. Dogs turned up their nose when offered these treats!

    By on

I have two dogs that “LOVE” treats. The sale representative suggested the Prairier Dog Smokehouse Duck Treats so I purchased the largest bag. My dogs will NOT EAT THEM! Waste of money! I love dealing with Chewy but struck out with these treats!

    DOGS LIKE THEM BUT...

    By on

The treats are very brittle, not like jerky at all. But the dogs seem to love em anyway. They do not last very long since they break up into small pieces. One dog tries to chew them while the other dog just breaks them up and swallows them whole. If you are looing for a jerky chew, this may not be what you are looking for?

    Recipe change?

    By on

The most recent packages of the duck treats I received were nothing like what they used to be. They are much, much smaller and harder than before, and just look like the quality of the product has dropped. Extremely disappointed in Prairie Dog, who also recently canceled their Salmon Jerky treats. Two treats in a row now they have let me down.

    A great treat

My dogs love this treat. One will sit by the cabinet they're kept in waiting for one. They all come running when I offer them one. I like that the ingredients are limited and not full of preservatives.

Well liked by my picky Peke

These duck jerky treats are a nice alternative for a dog who can't eat chicken and have had no adverse affects for a dog with a sensitive tummy.

Duck is crumbly, not like chicken

    By on

Dog seems to like it ok, but the duck pieces crumble easily in your hand, not like the "sturdiness" of the chicken jerky...but the pup eats it, so I guess it's ok...I lose a lot in crumbs, though...I'll stick with the chicken, I think, for future orders

    Recipe changed

    By on

My dogs have been eating various Prairie Dog jerky treats for a few years. One has a chicken allergy so we tend to buy duck, gameland bird, beef, lamb etc. Recently, the duck jerky has changed from moist and chewy to hard and crunchy. The moist version would get 5 stars, but being as my dogs don't like these as much, I can only give 2 stars. Not sure if maybe its just old stock, or if the smoking/cooking process has changed. I've noticed the duck treats are now also significantly cheaper than the others. Hoping they go back to the way they were.
