For people having trouble getting their cat to take this

By Jill on Sep 25, 2020

I’ve been giving this medicine to my cat for about a year. Of course they don’t like taking it, I wouldn’t mix it with food because I don’t trust that they will eat it. If you have trouble with getting your cat to take the medicine in their food or they spit it out, grab your kitty by the head with your thumb and forefinger firmly but not too hard on either side of their cheekbones and tilt their head back, they will open their mouth as a response, if the don’t then it is still easier to get the tip of the syringe in and get them to take the medicine this way, and you can then squirt the liquid into the cheek/corner of their mouth so that they swallow but don’t choke. I have found this to be the most effective, fastest, and least stressful way to give any oral liquid medication to my kitties, they will get used to it over time and not seven struggle. Side tip, this may be different for other cats but try just grabbing the head, and not backing them into a corner or making them feel restricted, they may squirm but if you have a firm grip on the head and don’t panic you should be perfectly fine without the added stress of making your cat feel constricted. My cats panic if they feel held down or restricted in any way … more

    Amazing Price!!!!

By Kitties on Jul 1, 2020

This is the only thing helping my Lexi keep her Inflammatory Bowel Disease in check. I couldn’t believe how much cheaper this was with Chewy vs my regular pharmacy. I get 6 times the product for the exact same amount. As for the comments about the flavor, there’s no flavor that would make your cat take this like a treat. It’s a liquid steroid. I just use the oral syringe I got from my previous pharmacy and to the back of the throat we go. My cat has been in this prescription for 4 years, 2.5ml once every 3 days. This bottle from Chewy is 480ml, my previous pharmacy was only 75ml

I wish this would work for my cat

    By Libby521 on Jun 18, 2020

But she will not take cherry flavored medication. I don't understand why cherry/raspberry is the only option.

    Cherry Flavor for Dogs/Cats????

By mellieb on Dec 18, 2019

They need to make this with a favorable tasty flavor for cats and dogs. It smells like cherry or human cough medicine. I would imagine it tasting this way too. My cat hates the taste!

    Cherry flavor vs. no flavor

By Georgie on Dec 18, 2018

I filled a prescription at a local pharmacy that was cherry flavor, and the cats would not take it. They used a different manufacturer (they used Hi-Tech Akorn) from previous orders that were not cherry flavored. Can Chewy.com get the rx from a different manufacturer?
