FAQ

Do Pork Chomps help maintain oral health?

Yes! When your dog chews on Pork Chomps, the chewing action scrapes away plaque, controls tartar buildup and helps stimulate gums. This diminishes bad breath, keeps teeth whiter and reduces the risk of potentially serious dental problems.

Are Pork Chomps safer than rawhide?

Made of baked pork skin, Pork Chomps are easy to digest. Dogs who chew Pork Chomps have a much lower risk of developing gastrointestinal problems than dogs who chew rawhide. Pork chomps also contain none of the harsh chemicals found in many rawhide chews.

Why aren’t Pork Chomps made in the United States?

We developed Pork Chomps after our extensive veterinary study affirmed pork skin to be a safe alternative to rawhide. When we looked at China we found answers that made sense for our product. China processes their pork skin in a unique way that specifically fits the Pork Chomps patented process. China continues to make high standards of quality a priority. Pork Chomps have been in the market since 2006. To ensure the highest quality standards Pork Chomps are manufactured in a state-of the-art facility built in 2013 that has been certified by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). GFSI is an international organization formed in 2000 to establish consistent regulations for human food production.

Why does Pork Chomps packaging include "wash hands before and after handling" in the instructions?

We suggest hand washing before and after all of our dog treat products. There isn't anything harmful on or in our products this is just a good hygienic practice. It is important to follow good kitchen hygiene practices when handling pet food, treats and chews, just as you would when you handle human food. Doing this helps keep pet foods, treats and chews from being contaminated with bacteria and other microorganisms from you, such as Salmonella, that can cause disease for your pet. Washing hands after also helps to prevent anyone becoming ill and possibly spreading the illness to others. It's a recommended good practice and in the best interest of you, your family and your pets.

How often can I give Pork Chomps to my dog?

The University of Illinois, a leading veterinary college, conducted a Digestibility Study of pork skin in 2012. The study provided in vitro results showing pork skin was 99.93% digested at the end of a 24-hour period. Since at the end of 24 hours Pork Chomps are almost fully digested, we feel comfortable recommending one chew per 24 hour period.

    Great value!

    By on

My 5 month old Huskie loves these! BUT they are smaller than what I expected. I would've given in these 5 stars if they were a little bigger. I only say this because my puppy is a chewer and I wish they lasted a little longer so she's not chewing on furniture, but I definitely recommend these as a starter pack for first time chewers.

    Pork Chomps

    By on

All three dogs enjoy chewing on these. They are a good size and seem to cause no trouble with digestion. As they get down to a small piece, the puppy plays catch with it by himself!

    Dog loves Pork Chomps

    By on

My dog really loves this brand but it was my own mistake for buying these. He choked on it twice. This is still an amazing brand but I definitely don’t recommend buying these for a big dog

    Doggies say no!

    By on

I thought that I had found an exciting new treat for my doggies, but they didn't want anything to do with this treat. I gave each dog a Drumstick and all of them turned their noses up to this treat. I'm surprised and disappointed because these pups never turn down a goodie. Great look and packaging, just not the flavor to attract my doggies.

Premium Pork Chomps pass the 'Lila' test---

    By on

The minute the box from Chewy came in the house our excellent dog, 'Lila' knew it was for her. As she has everytime we receive anything from Chewy she gives it the once over. Then she sits and patiently waits for my husband or I to open the box and show her what it contains. As soon as she saw the Pork Chomps she got very excited. She jumped up and then sat down and then jumped up again until that package was opened and she was offered a pork chomp. It didn't take her long to eat every bit of it.
