Cat hated it
Unfortunately I tried warm water and milk but the nuggets took a long time to soften and my cat still would eat it.
They ultimately tried it
At first they, Aubree & Goolyamo wouldn't touch it. Then they did, and loved it.
Good food topper
Excellent ingredients, but are not convenient to prepare in the morning when your 2 cats are starving and meowing at you. The time it takes to crumble, then rehydrate. And my 2 cats really don’t like these as a meal, they like it as a food topper, or a treat during the day. So I am using them up as a food topper. I crumble a few nuggets ahead of time, keep them in a container and sprinkle a little over their canned food. The Duck flavor is pretty easy to crumble but other flavors are really hard. So after they are done with these I won’t be buying anymore. A convenient idea that is not so convenient.
Healthy Nutrition
I have tried every flavor of Primal Nuggets, the Duck seems to be the winner. For me and my cats. (The Duck isn’t that hard to crumble like other flavors, the absolute best was Quail, but no longer available.) But not on its own, my cats (2) will nibble on this but not an entire meal ,no way! I do like the healthy ingredients, so I mix one nugget in with their wet food, (Meat Mates or Ziwi) and everybody’s is happy.
Highly Recommend
My kitty absolutely loves these freeze-dried nuggets and it's a really helpful and easy way to feed raw! Plus I love crumbling the nuggets and preparing her meals, it's a really great way to connect with her and be present. We usually do a scavenger hunt for her food once I've placed it and she seems to enjoy "hunting" for her food.
Yuk per my cats
First it takes way too long for liquid to absorb the freeze dried food. Once saturated , it is mush. I gave to my cats, they sniffed and walked away. I tried mixing with can food, well water canned food. Tried with chicken broth, nope, they won’t touch it. What a waste. I ask for a refund if I could.
Harder than rocks!
I hate Primal Nuggets. They are harder than rocks and take forever (and a lot of work to chop them up) to rehydrate, even with boiling hot water. I have 3 cats and not one of them seems to enjoy these freeze-dried ‘nuggets’, aka not-so-small-boulders. They will only eat tiny amounts of them if they are absolutely starving, that is, they have refused to eat their previous 2-3 meals of them. I should have known better, because they hate the Primal raw (non-freeze-dried), as well.

As I said in the turkey review, wouldn't touch the formula for cats but love the formula for dogs, and its the same brand........
Highlight of the meals! Pink Nose loves it!
I love the idea of feeding my kitty raw/freeze dried. But the problem is he gets constipated (I guess from the bone content) if feed on it on daily basis, even served wet. So I decided to add freeze dried only as topping. I tried several brands, and found he tolerates best with Primal - no constipation! Yay! He loves this duck flavor so much, he protests if I don't put the topping. It helps when this picky Pink Nose gets served his non-favorite food (but he got to eat it...), with just a bit of finely crushed of this Primal Duck flavor, guaranteed he'll licks the plate clean. When I feed this on its own, I always add water and make sure the food is soft/water fully absorbed before serving. With this food as topping and occasional main meals, I feel like I manage his weight better (he's not hungry all the time). So one more plus point! The nugget is soft and kind of moist, easy to crumble as topping. I am very happy with this product, so is my Pink Nose!
My kitties love it
The duck flavor is very popular with my boys. It’s the perfect way to get them to drink water since the nuggets need to soak up a sufficient amount before feeding. Wish the price was a little lower, though.
