Designed to safely contain even the craftiest canine escape artists, the ProSelect Empire Dog Cage is one of the strongest dog kennels available. Made from half-inch thick tubing and 20-gauge steel with extra-strong welds at the stress points, it’s engineered specifically for powerful or aggressive dogs that are able to push, claw or chew their way out of most other cages. For added safety, the dual slide latches are aligned with the cross beams so your pooch’s paws can’t reach them to help make sure he stays securely contained. A convenient slide-out steel tray under the floor gate helps make clean-up fast and easy, while four removable, locking casters allow you to easily move the kennel around your home, as needed.

We purchased this crate for our Vizsla who suddenly became destructive and anxious. This is a substantial crate! Good headroom and she loves it! It’s very easy to put together! One tiny drawback, the bottom tray is slick and a little slippery, wished it had come with a bottom mat or the finish on the tray not so slick. We just put down extra blankets.
I bought two of these crates and I’m very happy with them. I bought the large and I can fit in it with my pup. Probably only needed the medium for my 35 lb pup but it’s okay. The material is durable and assembly isn’t bad. I did it myself as it is very straightforward. Recommend not fully tightening the screws as you go as the top and bottom need a little wiggle room to get them into place before fastening. Good buy! Cat enjoys it too. For reference she is 7lbs
The instructions were easy to follow, and assembly was very easy. I may recommend having another person help you, as holding the parts by yourself can be a bit heavy and tiresome. The tray underneath makes cleanup easy, especially since my dog has separation anxiety and will sometimes pee on herself. The bars are durable, and the lockable wheels make it easy to move around or keep in one place if needed. My dog has tried to chew on the bars, and the outside coating of the bar came off and she gave up on it.
I bought this crate for my pitbull mix based off a recommendation from one of my dog trainers. My girl has busted a few of the cheaper wire crates before, prying open the sides and squeezing herself through. While it's amusing to come home and find that she's broken free again, it's dangerous for her (could get stuck and/or eat things in the house that she shouldn't). With this crate, she has yet to figure out how to break free. The wheels are a nice touch and can be easily locked/unlocked, and the catch-pan in the bottom compartment of the crate makes it easy to clean up after any accidents or spills. The crate itself is spacious - for reference, my girl is 50lbs, but the crate could fit my 75lb German shepherd instead if I wanted to put him in there (though I won't need to - he does not break the wire crates because he's a very good boy). For the cost, I am satisfied with this crate!
We rescued a Pit Pup. She's been staying in my Ferrets Travel Crate (Midwest Wabbitat Crate). She seems to have just a little bit of separation anxiety so i have been taking her to work with me every day for the month we've had her. For the occasions that warrant extended times in her crate, I was certain she would Destroy my Ferrets crate, so I did some research and came up with The Empire Heavy Duty Crate. There are a few on the market at better or comparable prices, HOWEVER, look carefully at the Description. The Frisco Heavy Duty ones look great, But state that the bars are 22 gauge steel, where the Empire is 20 gauge. Things like this do make a difference in overall durability and, in the case a muscle dog goes Nutso, Can keep her contained safely. Now Selah, doesn't show any signs of that kind of behavior, But knowing that her crate will last through her Adult years, without needing to upgrade or replace, is a nice thought. Its Solid, Secure, and large enough for her to be comfortable. In addition, we got her a nice plush bed mat and she loves going in for leisurely rests, (especially when she gets kicked off the couch for being too mouthy and hyper)
So far love this cage. Big drawback the bars used for the cage floor. Very far apart and looked not comfortable at all. Solved by taking metal catch tray meant to be on bottom and using it inside cage. I don’t plan on having dog poop or pee in cage anyway. Drawback to using pan for floor is the metal is very loud when he moves around. It is also very large. Does not fit through bedroom door so be sure to measure first before purchasing. We have in room with double doors. But all in all love the cage. Sturdy. Wheels are a plus. Very heavy. Dog can stand turn around lie down no problem. Big improvement over plastic cage.
This is a sturdy well made crate that is easy to put together. I originally purchased a less expensive one and my dog escaped from it and tore up my office. With this steel crate, he can not get out and it is very safe. In fact, he goes in willingly now. My dog is 68 pounds and this medium size is a perfect fit.
Customer service was great, shipping was as promised, and product is as described. Great choice for anyone with a GSD
This crate was really expensive but after reading reviews, I went for it. My boyfriend hired someone to put it together, so I can’t speak to that, but it was SUPER heavy in the box alone. I didn’t love the wheels because my dog is very unsure of anything not stationary/moving in the slightest, but the wheels make it easy to move. So I guess I like them at times! I wish the door wasn’t on the front, but was on the side, so it didn’t take up so much room. We could tuck it in a corner, if the door was on one end like normal Wire crates. My dog barely used it before he passed, but I’ve fostered similar size pups that loved it… so I’m glad we didn’t get rid of it after we lost my Rescue.
We rescued a large pit mix (60ish lbs) and had a hard time figuring out what to do with him when we left home. Tried a regular wire crate in the bedroom with the door closed - would escape within minutes and dig at the door to get out. Tried the wire crate with carabiners closing it everywhere - took 5 minutes to break one off and squeeze out. We left him out for several weeks until he tried to dig out through the wall to the garage. So we splurged on this hoping it would hold him - so far it’s been great! We’ve only had it for about a month, but have used it several times (ranging 30 minutes up to 6 hours) and have had no escapes or injuries! These were our main concerns with crating him as we were scared he’d hurt himself trying to get out. We did also get anxiety meds at the vet so we give him those before crating. A lot of times he will still dig or bite at the crate but after about 10 minutes he settles down and there’s no damage to the crate. We are super happy with this purchase as we didn’t think there was any way we could crate him successfully! Will update as we have it longer.
