Training your puppy
Stage 1: Getting Off to a Good Start
Create an enclosed small space where your puppy can be confined but still feel like part of the family. Make the space large enough for the litter pan to be at least 3 to 4 feet from the puppy's crate and water bowl. Fill the pan with litter or recycled paper litter to the fill line when the puppy is not there. (This prevents him from associating it with the sound of kibble being put in his food bowl.) Place a small amount of the puppy's urine or solid waste in the pan to help pet understand what the pan is used for. Don't scold; praise your puppy profusely and give him a treat when he is using the litter pan!
Stage 2: Be in Control
Set up a routine of feeding and exercise. Have fresh water available until a few hours before crating for the night. Feed your puppy at the same time each day, removing the bowl after 1 to 20 minutes. Keep your puppy on a leash while outside the pen area. You will keep accidents to a minimum when you have control over your puppy at all times until your puppy is fully trained.
Stage 3: Build Good Habits
Place the puppy in the pan regularly when you take your puppy out of the crate, after sleeping or exercising and at mealtimes. Schedule exercise with your puppy. Until your puppy is fully trained, encourage pet to eliminate in the pan before exercising. Using the phrase "puppy go here" when the puppy actually goes in the pan will build the association between the pan and the activity. Eventually, you will be able to use the phrase as a cue for your pet to go potty.
Training your adult pet
Retraining a Puppy That's Already Trained to Use a Pad or Newspaper
Place the pan in the spot where you put the paper/pad, and place your usual material in the pan without the litter. After your puppy has used the pan a few times, fill the pan with litter to the fill line and place the usual material over it.
After your puppy has become familiar with the smell of the litter, slowly begin to use increasingly smaller pieces of the other material, uncovering more of the litter every couple of days.
Transitioning a Puppy Who Has Been Going Outside
Choose an area of about 4 feet by 4 feet to habituate your puppy. Use a command or cue phrase such as "puppy go here" or "do your thing" before you start training to help him understand the association between the place and the purpose.
When your puppy is used to the new area, put the litter pan-filled with grass or other material from the area-in the spot. When your puppy is comfortable with the ground material in the pan, replace it with litter or recycled paper litter. After the pet has been using the pan outside with the litter with complete reliability, start moving the litter-filled pan toward the house a little bit each day until you can bring it into the house.

Perfect for special needs cat
By FluffyPurrscilla on Feb 7, 2021
This wide, low sided, easy entry litter box has made all the difference for my current foster cat. She has some structural anomalies and she's very uncoordinated, making it awkward for her to get out of a box even if she can get in. She was sometimes just urinating beside the old litter box because it was daunting. Now she can easily step in and there's room for her to turn around or exit over the side if she needs too. Being reliable with the litterbox is a top priority for getting adopted, so this will make a huge difference in both her comfort and finding her forever home.

Sand Pan for older Cats
By Red5 on Feb 22, 2021
This was a great buy, another major company did not have this type of item at the time I needed it. Chewy came through. Our adult cat with a hip problem has no problem entering/exiting this sand pan. The pan is easy to clean and the low entry/exit area is great for cats with hip problems.

Litter Garden
By Renee on Jan 31, 2021
Purchased this for my 18 yr old cat who is having trouble getting around. This one is 3" tall at the low side opening, which is a full 2" lower than her standard littler box. At first I thought it too big, but I think the extra room helps her move around and position herself better. I'm glad I bought the 'large' size.

Excellent product
By Linette on Feb 5, 2021
I have a 20 yrs old cat who began going outside of her normal litter box. I bought this product after doing some research stating my kitty may be experiencing pain getting in and out of taller boxes. She began using this box instantly without any issues at all! The low cut entry is perfect for a small or aging pet! The design is perfect!

May need to retrain but definitely worth the trouble
By WintersMama on Feb 1, 2021
I bought these after my puppy was already potty trained using her puppy pads. I noticed that she would slightly miss her pads occasionally and I thought this would help rectify that issue. When I first brought the pan home, she didn't know what to think and she had a few accidents. After a few days of training she was using her pan 100% of the time.

Great purchase
By DLSD on Jan 1, 2021
The litter pan does just what it is intended to dog. About as attractive as a dog litter pan can be. It is shallow enough so my 12 year old Bichon can easily enter it and has sides that hold the litter and dog effluence without any spill on the side. Note: Rather than 'puppy pads', litter is much easier to train dogs to and much less messy (and more environmentally friendly since it is made from recycled paper or discarded wood pulp).

Litter Pan
By LeeLee on Feb 25, 2021
I bought these for our pups but it was too small, they are American Bully and 12 weeks old so for me not big enough for them. But I'm sure if you have small dogs or cats it would be perfect for them.

Used for bunny litter box
By MaryHoppins on Jan 13, 2021
This box was perfect for our Dutch rabbit! Every bunny litter box was too small or she’d kick her waste out when she hopped out. This one I put a thin layer of wood pellets on the bottom and fresh hay on top. She has room to dig and eat and go potty. No mess! I bought a cheap plastic scoop to clean. So much easier and she’s thrilled!

Great for seniors or handicapped pets
By VicV on Jan 15, 2021
This is the perfect litter box for seniors or pets with arthritis or other issues that prevent them from getting in and out of a regular litter box. It’s also very roomy to turn around in. My 3 legged senior feline is very happy with her new “box”... getting a second one.

Nice size, good quality
By Tori on Jan 4, 2021
Had high hopes my senior Pom would be able to be trained to use a litter box over the winter as the cold and walks are getting hard on him. He wants absolutely nothing to do with it - but the litter pan is nice quality. Tried it with the litter (huge fail) and with his peepee pad inside - no go. The pan itself is great!
