The recommended feeding amounts are based on using a standard 8 oz/250 ml measuring cup which contains approximately 110 g of Purina Beneful Protein Rich dry dog food. Most adult dogs can be fed once daily. However, when high activity or other factors create a higher feed intake, twice-a-day feeding is recommended. Dogs should be maintained in ideal body condition and not allowed to become overweight. The food intake required to maintain ideal body condition will vary, depending on age, activity and environment. Consequently, the amount of food required for each dog will vary and should be adjusted accordingly. When switching your dog to Beneful Protein Rich dry dog food, please allow 7 - 10 days for the transition. Gradually add more Beneful Protein Rich and less of the previous food to your dog's dish each day until the changeover is complete. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets. Provide adequate fresh water in a clean container daily. For your pet's health, see your veterinarian regularly.
You may be anxious to make the switch to a new food, particularly if the new food will help address any issues your dog is having. A gradual transition is the best way to switch to a new food, though.
We recommend making the switch over a 7- to 10-day period. This gives your dog (and his stomach) a chance to adjust to the new food.
Here’s our 7- to 10-day plan for switching dog food:
Days 1 to 2: Feed 3/4 of the normal amount of current food and add 1/4 of the new food. Days 3 to 4: Serve half the current food and half the new food. Days 5 to 7: Feed 3/4 of the new food and 1/4 the previous food. Days 8 to 10: Serve only the new food.
If your dog doesn’t seem to like the new food or if he experiences digestive upset, extend the transition over a few more days. You can also ask your veterinarian for advice.

Tundra is turning a year old and with him being a border collie he needs a high protein diet and he loves this one.
I usually allow some time to blend when I am introducing a new kibble/food, in this case they were out of his Salmon Beneful so I tried the Lamb & Venison version, great! He loves it and makes a nice change. I try to avoid beef & pork, this was a good alternative and he did not suffer any stomach problems when we made an abrupt change.
My pups go bananas for this stuff. The kibbles are small, and they eat it right up. I have notice they are not eating grass as much as they used too, so that’s a good sign!
This is the only bag you have which the cost is more and get less food than the bag I usually buy but is sold out. I now have to shop elsewhere until your inventory adjusted.
This is ok, but how come 22 pounds is more expensive than the 28 pounds which I would rather have
My dogs absolutely love this food! The only thing downfall is the sizes. I wish they came in a 50lb bag. If it did, then I'd definitely continue purchasing. Unfortunately I need a bigger bag, I have 2 pitbulls and they can eat lol
easy transaction quick delivery and best of all frankie is happy
No leftovers here! No digestive problems. Gobbles it all.
Received this free in exchange for my honest review. I haven’t switched up my dogs food for over five years, so I was a bit apprehensive on how he would tolerate the food change. The food is a kibble form and doesn’t have a strong, smell when you take it out of the packaging like my previous dog food. I have a thirteen pound Morkie mix that isn’t very picky when it comes to food. He will try to eat anything... including celery and romaine lettuce lol, but he really enjoyed this. I normally set a large portion of food out in the morning and he grazes eating it throughout the day. By the end of each day, all the food would be gone. There were no changes to his bowel movements nor increased burping because of this food nor were there any stinky farts because of it. Since he shares my bed with me... that was important. Overall, I was really happy with this, since he is a senior at 9 years old, it’s important to have them get their protein in and this product’s marketing makes me feel good about it being healthy and the benefits he’s receiving from it. I would probably keep buying this too and make the change to this food from my previous, Bill jack. Thank you for sending me this to try out.
If I could give it a negative 1 star, I would! I ordered this product once before, and the dogs would only eat it if mixed with something else. I forgot to cancel the auto ship so received it again, and last night my shepherd lab mix had explosive diarrhea starting at 1AM , then started vomiting this morning in addition to the diarrhea. I'm glad the shih tzu smelled the food and left it.
