I got this product on sale and was very excited to have my cats try this. My cats really enjoy 2/3 of the flavors. But they straight up refuse to even touch the spinach and cod flavor. They are not very picky and tend to enjoy pretty much whatever wet food we give them. If I can't use 1/3 of the product, then it's a bad buy. It's a shame because the ingredients and quality are so good. I honestly don't know if I can recommend this product in good conscience, especially if you're on a strict budget like we are.
If you want to try it with your cats, get the smaller package (just to test). I've been trying out different brands to move away from what they used to eat (because it's expensive) and tried this. My cats liked it the first day, but then refused to eat it the rest of the package. Start small if you're trying it.
My cat is 18 and whereas when she was young, she never fussed about her food, the last few years it has become increasingly difficult to tempt her to eat wet food. She refused the Beyond pate and I suspect it is because each pate flavor contains a vegetable: for ex, the cod spinach, the chicken sweet potato. So I could not fairly rate them. I shall find another cat to gift them to. My rating is arbitrary.
Beyond Variety Pack for some reason my 3 cats did not care for the BEEF, might have see that coming as they do not get people food. They will smell anything we eat but not eat people food when we have beef they don't even want to smell it.
I used this food to administer gabapentin to my cat during a move. All was well for a bit, but the combination of the wet food, medication, and stress gave her the worst diarrhea. The smell was god awful. She seemed to enjoy all the flavors though!
I originally ordered this as a replacement while my cat's usual food was out of stock. She loves all three flavors, which is great because she has turned her nose at every other salmon-flavored food I've tried giving her. Purina Beyond has become a part of her regular rotation.
I prefer Beyond to many other cat foods. The pate is easy to divide into sections and also to add water to. Interesting, Mimi does not like Chicken. In any form. I thought cats liked chicken.....but not Mimi. However, she will eat it eventually. But slowly and with no enthusiasm. Such is life.....
my cats don't like purina beyond, they don't like pate , I wanted a small order but I didn't know this was pate
Same story as my last review. My fussy indoor cats turned their noses up at the chicken and tuna recipes. They gladly ate the Salmon (go figure). They are so hard to please. The chicken and tuna went to my outdoor feral who did not seem to have an issue with either flavor. Even if just a feral eats the unwanted flavors my indoor cats don't like, don't base your purchase on my little spoiled indoor cats. I'm sure the chicken and tuna flavors are fine.
