Puppies: Start puppies on moistened Purina ONE as early as they will nibble at solid foods, generally 3-4 weeks of age. Allow your puppy to eat at will until fully weaned (6-8 weeks). After weaning, feed pups (to six months of age) all of the moistened or dry Purina ONE they will consume at intervals throughout the day. If water is added, use no more than one part warm (not hot) liquid to four parts Purina ONE, changing frequently to ensure freshness. If fed dry, this formula may be kept before pups at all times. For best results, develop a regular feeding schedule, such as three small meals a day for younger puppies. Gradually reduce the one feeding in the morning to one in the evening as your puppy ages. The routine should not vary.
Transition Instructions
Although you'll be anxious to see the difference Purina ONE can make in your dog, please allow 7 - 10 days to ease the transition from your dog's current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more Purina ONE until you're feeding Purina ONE exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets.

Do you guys make a smart blend puppy food that doesn't have chicken in it? I have a large breed puppy that's a mastiff shepherd mix and he's allergic to chicken
Answer by Lucy • Aug 15, 2021
Amen to that. Even if it says beef on bag chicken Is still in it.!
My dog is 8 months old, when should I switch to Purina adult
Answer by • May 07, 2018
Both small and medium breed puppies are considered adult at about one year of age, so your dog’s birthday indicates when to switch from puppy food. Toy breeds can be an exception to this. Some are considered adults at nine months of age. You should switch your large or giant breed dog to an adult dog food when your puppy is anywhere from 18 months to 24 months old.
Am I correct in assuming that the amounts given for feeding is the total for the day?
Answer by • Feb 13, 2019
The Feeding Guide is a general recommendation for the daily amount to be fed. This amount may be split up into separate meal times.
so how many hours in between should I feed my puppy ???? if it's 3 times a day
Answer by • Jun 05, 2019
After weaning, feed pups (to six months of age) all of the moistened or dry Purina ONE they will consume at intervals throughout the day. For best results, develop a regular feeding schedule.
My owner tried several puppy foods on me, trying to get me to eat lamb or salmon. I am a lab, and my skin tends to be dry. I was throwing up with the last one, so she tried this food and I love it. My coat is really soft and shiny, and I am gaining weight. I tend to be an active dog so I need the best food I can get and this one is working really well for me. I love it and chow down every time she put in my new dog dish, which slows down my eating. haha

Finally found my puppies food
So I have been struggling to find food for my 2 puppies for the past few weeks! I tried multiple brands with no luck each time. I have 2 shih tzu's and one happens to be very picky with food while the other one just enjoys anything. So it was hard to find food that both of them would love. A friend told me to give this one a try so I did with low expectations after many other attempts with other food. Once I received it both of my puppies where jumping on the bag immediately after taking out of the package. Next thing you know they went straight to eating and leaving there bowls empty! So happy they both loved it. Its interesting how it has dry chicken I'm guessing that's why they liked it. Also the 8lb bag is a very descent size amount compared to other small bags I purchased from other brands and the prize is not bad at all either.

dog didn't like it
For some reason every time I try to get my dog to eat a grain-free dog food, he balks. I even try mixing a very small amount in with his regular food, and he sticks his nose up at it. I have even seen him get pieces of it and spit it out. I really don't think this is the norm though - he's probably just a picky eater.

A good change!
We switched our baby basset to this from the kind she came from the breeder with. She had very little diarrhea and she seems to love it.

But puppy likes lamb better.
My puppy enjoys this food very much, especially the shredded chicken pieces. However, when he's an adult I will switch him to the Purina One Lamb and Rice formula because that's what the adult dogs are eating. If there is any lamb kibble left in their bowls he will go eat it instead of the puppy food. He also likes beef and lamb treats better than chicken so I think that's his preference. This is still a good food though and follows WSAVA guidelines, unlike most other dog foods.

I wish the sold puppy food in Bigger bags I go through a bag every 10 days. Some people have puppies that eat more than others or have multiple puppies. Been looking into the purina reward program and they will not take my address 😔 its getting really annoying 😒
