Food both 2 year old and 6 month old can and will

We were having a hard time feeding our puppy (Major) his Eukanuba puppy food, because his two year dad (Maverick) wanted to eat it. Not good! Then Major wanted to eat Maverick’s food, defeating the purpose of buying the more expensive puppy food. They are Weimaraners, so we needed to find something they could both eat that would fulfill them both nutritionally and not cause GI problems. Took several tries and slowly blending the food to get one that worked. Those both love this and upon reading this label we were happy too. Purine is a trust worthy name that has fed many generations off dogs in both of our families. All four of us are very happy now! Added feature… they get a little soft with the crunch they need for their teeth!

Not a fan of this dog food

I only started feeding this food because Purina discontinued the Purina Beyond that my dog has been eating for the last 10 years and the only food that my younger dog has ever eaten. I picked this one because the price of Purina Pro Plan is a little out of my price range (the price of the Beyond was in between the Pro Plan and the Purina One) and because it's the same one my mom feeds her dog so it just makes things easier if they are around each other (no worries of having to pick up the dog food). I feel like this Purina One is a very low grade dog food... don't get me wrong, my dogs love it and so far they haven't had any issues with it but, I'm just not thrilled with the multi colored kibble or the soft chewy chicken pieces in it as I feel like the majority of the bag is those pieces! My dogs love those chewy pieces but I just don't think it's very high quality food and I feel like my dogs are gonna end up with more dental issues due to having less crunchy kibble to eat which helps scrap plaque from their teeth. I'm seriously considering sucking it up and paying the extra money for the Pro Plan or just switching to another dog food brand in general.

Dog looooves it

Good for sensitive tummies. My rescue Golden came to us vomiting and full of worms at age 5 months. Once he had his worms treated, he was still throwing up Iams, so we switched to this one. His tummy issues were gone and no problems since. I’ve heard that Purina is discontinuing this food and I notice the 40 lb. bags are no longer available. Please keep the chicken and rice formula for all your fans out here!

My Vet recommended Purina so I have been feeding my 50 lb rescue the chicken and rice formula for a few years. She loves it! The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is the chicken pieces in it are too big for my automatic feeder and I have to cut them up with scissors (my furbaby is worth the extra effort!!) to keep it from hanging up and not working correctly.

Great mixer

When I am in a hurry. Abby ( our dog ) has a 1/2 cup of Purina One, dry dog food. Other times I mix a few dry Purina One with her wet cans of Purina One basic Instincs . For a great change I used the Chicken and Rice Formula dry food, with the Chicken and Rice wet food. She enjoys her breakfast and dinner. When we go to the dinning room in our Senior Living.

dogs love it

I had been feeding my dogs Purina One for the last 2 years. I had a change in my finances and needed to save money so I changed to a cheaper brand of food. Big mistake! The cheaper food gave them horrible gas, their daily bowel movements increased to the point they were having one almost every time they went outside, and they ate nonstop like they were never actually full. It was like the cheaper food went right thru them with no nutritional benefits. I switched back to Purina One and the gas stopped, they are back to 2 bowel movements a day, and they seem like they are satisfied after eating a regular portion. I would not have thought that different brands of dog food would have affected my dogs as much as they did. It is definitely worth the extra money to ensure that my dogs are getting food that is nutritionally good for them and that they enjoy eating.

Dog Approved

My picky dogs like this stuff. I used to be the type of person to buy the cheapest, most bang for the buck dog food I could find. I buy this brand now, because I feel it’s better than the bulk dog food, and nice compromise between the extremely cheap and extremely expensive.
