The recommended feeding amounts indicated are based upon the average nutritional needs of an adult dog with normal activity. Factors, such as a dog's metabolism, breed size, activity level, age and whether the dog is spayed or neutered, will affect the amount of Purina ONE needed to maintain an ideal body condition. If you find that your dog is losing weight or becomes overweight when fed these amounts, please adjust accordingly. To help your dog maintain an ideal body condition, monitor your dog's weight on a regular basis, making sure that his ribs are easily felt and the waist is visible when viewed from above.
Puppies: Start puppies on moistened Purina ONE as early as they will nibble at solid foods, generally 3-4 weeks of age. Feed pups (to six months of age) all of the moistened or dry Purina ONE they will consume at intervals throughout the day. If water is added, use no more than one part warm (not hot) liquid to four parts Purina ONE, changing frequently to ensure freshness. If fed dry, this formula may be kept before pups at all times.
Reproduction: Purina ONE provides the extra nutrition needed by reproducing females in stages of gestation and lactation. Food consumption may vary during gestation, so feed the amount needed to maintain the pregnant female's good body condition. Food intake may double or even quadruple during lactation.
Please allow 7 - 10 days to ease the transition from his current food and a little more Purina ONE until you're feeding Purina ONE exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets.
Dog switched to this after eating the chicken and rice formula; he devours this blend. He craves it and it actually smells like lamb when you open the bag, which I love. I would recommend this to any sort of hunting dog or active dog as it fuels them better than chicken.
These 2 are so excited to eat this daily! They love the flavor and I love what it does for their skin and coats(we rotate with salmon as well), they’re prone to allergies from anything feathered so this was a game changer! We always buy this or salmon flavored in this brand!!!!! We have happy healthy babes!!!
I used to order the purina pro plan lamb and rice and unfortunately that product was discontinued by Chewy . I have been feeding my boxers chicken because there was nothing that was comparable to what we were eating that was remotely affordable. Much to my surprise I found this Purina One lamb and rice formula and my dogs devour it . To be honest , this is the exact same food they were eating before that got discontinued. Either way , glad it's back , even it is under a different name .
My dog gets tired of the same old food. So I bought this one. She LOVES it. She eats it right up. I would highly recommend this food for any large breed dog. Mine is a German Shepard/Doberman.
I bought this brand and the lamb piece flavors in September 2022. My 2 adult dogs and new pup loved the flavor and the lamb pieces. I just recently purchased again in a larger bag. I opened the bag and he had a stronger smell but I figured it was a while since I ordered. I spilled out the bag into a dog food container to keep fresh. When I went to feed the dogs, they turned their noses up and walked away. The puppy who usually will eat anything didn't even care for it. I called customer service and they said it would need to return for refund as their policy has changed from allowing a refund without return. I use to donate anything that was refunded and didn't need return. I unfortunately threw the box and the bag and it would have been difficult to drag 40 lbs to have returned. I ended up throwing it out. First time I had ever had to do this. I will shop other pet shop that still has a better return policy if and when possible.
My retired racer has been on the lamb and rice formula since I adopted her almost 3 1/2 years ago. She has done very well maintaining her weight etc. Something changed with my last purchase. Luna refused to eat it. She just ignored it. Hunger got the best of her and she ate some of it. This behavior continued the next couple of days. Something changed with the formula. She has done well on another brand.
Our lab has been on this food ever since she graduated to adult food. She is 81/2 years old and has never run out of energy. Loves to play ball.
Our senior dog (14yrs, yellow lab mix) started to balk at eating the chicken kibbles in the "Vibrant Maturity" Purina One. As soon as we tried the Lamb and Rice (Purina One) she ate everything. But with other supplements for senior dogs, we've dropped the Vibrant Maturity until they come out with a chicken free version.
Had trouble finding a dog food flavor that my one dog would eat and not get tired of after a few days. Lamb and rice he eats his whole bowl at every dinner..I highly recommend this product. It is healthy and he loves it. We don't buy cheap dog food it isn't good for your fur babies. Chewy is Great. They care about your babies and save you money. Been a customer for years.
I have a Family of 4 Dogs (Mother- Yorkie/ Father - Silky & their Daughter &Son)! They did like the beef, but they truly love the Lamb & Rice!!!
