This product was recommended by my vet and has truly helped my 2 mini goldendoodles. However, the consistency of this product is inconsistent. Every other month I get a batch with miniature chicken pieces (more like crumbs) instead of the chicken bits. When this happens I have to boil chicken breast to add to it and it is very inconvenient. Why is production quality hit or miss?
I was recommended this by my vet to try with my golden retriever pups because she said it would be better for them. They are about 9 months and I was told to get them off the purina pro chicken and to give this food purina ONE a try. I mixed a little of this in with the purina pro chicken and fed them like normal and they didn’t keep it down for long. So I told the vet and she said it’s normal when switching foods and mixing. So the second day (today) I did the same thing and they wouldn’t even touch it. I opened a second bag to see if it had the same smell the first bag did and it did, So I guess they’ll be staying on the big purina pro bag for now. Idk if there’s anything wrong with the food or not but I bought 3 bags of the PRO so i guess I’ll be donating it to the shelter in town.
My 11 week old chihuahua has been eating some unlabeled puppy kibble from the shelter for a while, and I have no idea what it is. All I know is, he liked it better than the white bag of puppy kibble (also Purina maybe?) they sent for him. So enter this stuff, which I was hoping he’d actually eat a whole serving of so I could stop free feeding him. He ate the dried chicken bits first - like a kid picking out the marshmallows from his Lucky Charms! Lol! But he did go back for the kibble, too. For now, I am mixing it with his old kibble to transition him, but he is picking this stuff and avoiding the other. He’s still not stuffing his face, but he gets some wet food, too, so I’m not too worried. We’ll stick with this until bag 1 is done, which - given his eating habits - might be the point at which we’d be switching to adult food.
Great dog food but gave my puppy the runs. I should have known better to buy a smaller bag. Oh well I’ll donate to shelter.
Our vet recommended the Purina blend for our new puppy, the breeder had been feeding her a much more expensive brand which she was not really interested in. After switching to this she's cleaning her bowl at every meal.
I was using blue buffalo but it was giving my lab puppy diarrhea. She also wasn’t that interested in her food and she was getting skinny. Switched to this and she LOVES it. She gets so excited for meal time and she’s a healthier weight. Poops are much more solid. Overall I’m very happy!
I had bought Purina One Pro Plan for puppy. Nugget our new puppy was not a huge fan. Bought this instead and he loves it.
My 8 week old American Bully loves this! I’m mixing in her old food with it and have had no upset tummy!
Over the years we have tried so many different foods, and we end up coming back to Purina One. Are dogs stay healthy, they enjoy eating it, and it is a great value
The transition from the cheap shelter puppy kibble to this was simple and she loves it.
