Purina ONE SmartBlend Sensitive Systems Adult Formula Dry Dog Food

I chose this food b/c my dog (lab/pitbull mix) has a very sensitive stomach with the hope that it would be better for her. Well she hates it and won’t eat it unless I add something like coconut oil or an egg in the mix. This food did last about 2 months much longer than her usual food and she didnt experience any digestive issues that I could tell. But I think I’ll switch back to Beneful Original with Natural Salmon Dry food; so she can stop begging for my food & looking sad at her feed time.

My dog likes this food a lot, along with the other flavors in this line, which he's been eating for quite a while. I was surprised at how small the kibbles are compared to the other flavors, though. It looks almost like cat food; it must be designed for small dogs. You would need a lot of small dogs to go through such a big bag of food. My 60 lb dog doesn't mind, but I will probably stick to the other flavors with larger kibble in the future.

Got this because my goldendoodle was having some skin issues and has a pretty sensitive stomach when changing foods. I haven’t noticed much difference yet and it’s been a couple weeks but this stuff stinks. I can’t even explain what it smells like but it makes my entire kitchen smell like it from one cup in a bowl.

I have had my dog on Purina one for quite a while now and really love it. I change flavors every so often. I chose this kind this time around because it was on sale. The only thing about this food compared to others is how small the pieces are. The other kind have the bigger meat chunks and this kind does not. it only has these really itty bitty pieces. My dog eats fairly fast but not at a pace that I have bought a slow feeder for him yet. After buying this bag I did have to buy him a slow feeder because the pieces are so small he'd scarf so fast he'd choke. So the price for a slow feeder counteracted the on sale price. Other than that, I have zero complaints.

It has 26% protein, which is the exact amount that we aim for. It's not too high and not too low. It's the perfect amount of protein for active large breed dogs and helps them maintain their ideal weights. As soon as you open a bag of this food, you can immediately smell the salmon, which I find very reassuring because that right there tells you exactly what the primary ingredient in this kibble is. We had actually been feeding the Pro Plan version of this food for many years (Pro Plan Sensitive Skin & Stomach salmon & rice formula), when we realized that this Purina One Sensitive Systems salmon formula is nearly identical as far as the ingredients and macros for a fraction of the price, so we made the switch and our dogs do just as well on the Purina One as they did on the pricier Pro Plan. Actually, they seem to like the Purina One a bit better, and I think it's because it has a much stronger fish smell than the Pro Plan formula does (not too sure why that is), so they are more attracted to it. I recently spoke with a Purina representative, who informed me that Pro Plan and Purina One are extremely similar, so if you don't want to spend the extra money on Pro Plan, you can easily switch to Purina One and still get all of the same nutritional benefits that you would get with the more expensive Pro Plan formulas. You really can't beat the price of this food. Having multiple dogs, we just love that we can get 93 lbs of this food (three bags) for under $100 thanks to Chewy's autoship discount and the already low price of Purina One. Bottom line - this is an outstanding food at an outstanding price. Purina is a brand that has been around for many decades and is tried and true with extensive science and proven results behind it. With all of these grain-free and self-proclaimed "holistic" foods out there that have been causing serious heart disease and killing many dogs, I take great comfort in feeding my dogs a brand that can be trusted to keep them safe and healthy. … more

My dog ate an entire 30lb bag of this with no problem, but I opened a new 16lb one and she won't eat no matter how hungry she is. It smells weird too, kind of plastic-y. To emphasize, we got a small bag of Pro Plan salmon and rice and she ate all of what I gave her (it also actually smells like fish). No, the food was not expired, and yes, we added other, different flavors on top and she still wouldn't eat it.

Our fur baby has been on special dietary food for over a year due to colitis. We are SLOWLY trying a new food. The new food is good for sensitive systems so hoping this works. We’re trying a handful a day mixed with his special diet food. After a week we’ve had no problems ! This week we’re trying 2 handfuls...wish us luck.

Smaller pieces than usual! Not sure what the deal is since we had this in our rotation before but the pups wont eat it and they’ve had some tummy issues. Not sure if I’ve gotten a bad batch or what but I’m thinking this may get pitched. Bag was fine and kibble smelled fresh so not sure at all.

I switched my pups to this after having several issues with gas using Pedigree and Ol' Roy. After some researching, this was one of the top "reasonable" choices. My dogs love it and they have had zero gas when just eating this.

Purchased this good for my 2 year old male doberman. He loves the taste and he is a somewhat picky eater. I was happy with the ingredients, and love that it's fish based so I tried it out. He's doing great on it, I've bought 2 bags already. His coat is more shiney now!
