We recommend that you keep your dog in ideal body condition and not allow your dog to become overweight. The exact amount of food your dog requires will need to be adjusted according to age, activity and environment. But a good place to start is with these guidelines for an average, active, adult dog fed once daily. Provide adequate fresh water in a clean container daily.
Please allow 7-10 days to ease the transition from your dog's current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more Pro Plan until you're feeding Pro Plan exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets.

Specialized Nutrition for Unique Needs
High-quality protein like real chicken, lamb or salmon is the #1 ingredient in all dry formulas. Purina Pro Plan is formulated with key nutrients to help support specific needs based on life stage, lifestyle, breed size or other unique needs.

Life-Stage Formulas
Puppy formulas are formulated with a growing dog in mind, with DHA for brain and vision development, and antioxidants to help nourish developing immune systems. Adult formulas are formulated with key nutrients to support specific needs, plus they contain vitamin A and linoleic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid, for a healthy skin and coat.
Breed-Size Formulas
Dogs of different sizes have different needs, and their breed size-specific formulas help to address them. Toy and Small Breed formulas offer nutrient-dense, size-appropriate kibble while the Large and Giant Breed formulas are specially formulated to meet the needs of bigger dogs.

Sensitive Skin & Stomach Formula
This specialized formula is great for dogs who may experience skin and/or stomach sensitivity. The dry formula is made with real salmon as the #1 ingredient and also contains easily digestible rice and oatmeal plus omega fatty acids and zinc.
Weight Management Formulas
For adult dogs who are overweight or less active, the Weight Management formulas offer an optimal protein-to-fat ratio to help them be their best.

Best food for sensitive Weimaraner
By Whit on Jan 11, 2021
We’ve tried multiple foods during our dog’s first year to year 1/2 of his life and this was recommended to us by our vet. It has been an incredible choice for our Weim. Our dog has a very sensitive stomach and skin issues and ever since he’s been on this food he’s had hardly any dermatological issues nor vomiting. The food smells pretty fishy (of course with Salmon) which can make his breath smell a bit stinky but it’s nothing that would ever deter us from continuing to feed him this. He’s been a happy camper for the last year and we are so grateful!

Beware - New Formula Bad
By KSark on Jan 12, 2021
My dog had been eating Pro Plan for some time and was doing well on it. After Purina changed the formula my dog began having problems -- licking her bed and paws excessively. At first I thought it was a tooth ache and had her checked. Then she started getting extremely gassy and I realized it was her food causing the problem. We switched her kibble to another brand and she is starting to get better but it has been a difficult time.

Impressed.....
By Purina on Dec 31, 2020
I noticed my dog was kinda over his old food and he would get really bad diarrhea atleast once a week so I figured I should try to find something better. He’s been on this food for a couple weeks now and so far so good! I gave it 4 stars because we haven’t been using it for that long to determine if it’s really good for my dogs stomach. But, honestly I’m impressed with the difference in my dog.

Best food ever!!
By Vicc on Jan 4, 2021
This dog food really helped both of my dogs, they were having really bad stomach problems. I have a golden retriever who wasn’t able to keep her food she was on down and ever since feeding her this Purina product she’s been able to eat with no problem I also have a Australian Shepherd who was having severe diarrhea and that has stop ever since I switched him to this brand dog food!! And they both really enjoy this food they get so excited when I feed them now!

it helps our dogs
By panda on Jan 11, 2021
Mainly bought for our 5 year old pitbull, she had skin issues after about a year old and didn’t know what to do. We have switched to sensitive skin/stomach and have seen a major difference. First she doesn’t stink and we don’t have to bath her as much(we would bath her once a week) and she doesn’t lick her paws as much.

Good Stuff!
By Lambkin on Jan 3, 2021
Purina certainly has upped their game with this ProPlan line. I had been looking for a new food to mix with the Royal Canin that his vet prescribed which is good for his stomach, but not his appetite. After having read all of the positive reviews here, I have to say that it has been better than expected. My picky standard poodle eats it just fine, and with the addition of the ProPlan probiotic supplement, he's a happy boy. No more upset tummy!

Changed formula
By momof2boys on Dec 31, 2020
My lab has food intolerance issues since he was a puppy. We tried several foods over a year that our vet recommended. We had no luck until Purina Pro Plan Focus Salmon dog food. He had no issues at all and was doing well for a year. The bag changed a few months ago and I did not know the formula changed. It now has beef in the ingredients which is one of the foods he is intolerant of. I now have to find a new dog food. Purina should have stated the change of ingredients.

Josie Mae loves it!
By KatieW on Jan 8, 2021
So pleased to have tried this food for Josie Mae our GSD. She has ear problems due to allergies and I have tried many different foods. This Salmon and rice formula seems to be the only food that doesn't make the problem worse. Also, she loves the taste and eats every bite.

stop the scratch
By pepwatr on Jan 10, 2021
I switched to this dog food based on a vet tech recommendation. This will be the 3rd dog food we have tried for our soon to be 2 year old golden. I am hoping to see some benefits but he has not been on it long enough for me to know at this point but it appears palatable and he likes it.
