Great food!

Switched to the salmon blend after going through 1 small bag of the beef and 2 small bags of the lamb Purina pro plan diets. After 3 months of beef/lamb my dog had a more dull/dry coat and a little dandruff. So his vet suggested switching to the Salmon diet and it has been great for him. Coat back to being shiny and soft and it took care of his dry skin. The food does not smell fishy and it does not leave him with fishy breath. My dog can also sometimes have a sensitive tummy and this food has been sitting well with him. We have been very happy switching him to this salmon diet!

The salmon appears to be missing

I was feeding my guy the Pro Plan Sensitive Stomach Salmon and he loved it. I thought I would give the shreds version a try and save a few bucks. Not a good move. The shreds version seems to be a fine food and he still eats it but it does not have enough salmon in it to interest him. He is crazy for salmon and always has to have some of mine when I cook it. There is very little salmon odor in the shreds version. We are headed back to the "good" stuff.

Not a good choice for our dog

We decided to change from shredded beef and rice to shredded salmon and rice for our 18 month old golden retriever. He’s always had a good appetite. For the first week we mixed the new food with the old food with no problems. The last few days he’s been on strictly salmon and it doesn’t agree with him. He’s been vomiting in the evening and isn’t interested in eating the salmon flavor. He will eat if we mix something with it. We changed to Purina One Lamb and rice now and he seems happier with that. His other bodily functions are normal. Not sure if there’s a problem with the Salmon flavor food or if he doesn’t just doesn’t like it. Can’t imagine he’d be throwing up if it was only the taste he didn’t like??? Wondering if anyone else has had issues with their dogs eating the salmon flavor?

Seems to like it

My new adult Cavalier came to me on this food & he seems to like it. He doesn't always finish it, but he has a history of being a picky eater when he was younger. Since he could stand to lose a little weight, I guess I'm not overly concerned yet, but I might try something different in the future.

Adequate

I bought these for feeding pellets to my axolotls. Grabbing up the pellets is very difficult. They have the wrap on the ends to prevent harm to the mouth of whatever you're feeding, which is why I bought them, but also why I can't seem to pick up the pellets very well.

Yellow loose stool

This is the second type of Purina pro plan I’ve tried (I started with the sport or active) and my dogs stool is the color of the dye they use in the food. Neither this nor a chicken formula has allowed her to have solid “pick up-able” poop. I’ll be donating the rest of the bag, but I just hope I can find something that is good for her and hopefully doesn’t contain dye!

kibble, blended

When I first open the bag, I noticed the larger kibble was a little softer and bits of real dehydrated food in it. My dog loves this brand and flavor. She gets the salmon with rice. Although if they had a salmon and sweet potato, now that would be perfect. But that’s OK. She loves this food. It is not tiny, so she can’t woof down, she has to chew it!

Love this food

We were having issues with our Rottweiler having upset stomach with last dog food. This has been the best and stomach is way better. Last dog food he would eat but this food he acts like it is candy.

Seems to help with allergies

My boxer doesn't lined it a lot initially but now is a bit bored with it. We saw a slow improvement in her allergies and have determined lamb and chicken were bad but salmon is going okay.
