Is the kibble in the Purina Pro Plan toy breed formula smaller than the kibble in their small breed formulas?
Answer by Chewy • Apr 28, 2019
The kibble for the toy breed formula is .25-.333 inches while the kibble for the small breed formula is .375 inches.

at what age does a puppy become an adult??
Answer by Chewy • Feb 16, 2021
You should start switching to adult-formula dog food when your puppy stops getting taller. The precise when depends on your dog's size. Small breeds generally become adult at around 9-12 months old, medium breeds around 12 months and large breeds about 12-16 months. If uncertain, we recommend consulting with your veterinarian.

Does the Purina pro plan focus dry food for toy breeds contain DHA, and EPA, and antioxidants
Answer by Chewy • Feb 14, 2019
Puppy formulas are formulated with a growing dog in mind, with DHA for brain and vision development, and antioxidants to help nourish developing immune systems. Adult formulas are formulated with key nutrients to support specific needs, plus they contain vitamin A and linoleic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid, for a healthy skin and coat.

I noticed the packaging has changed. Is this the same as the chicken and rice Focus brand for adult toy breed?
Answer by Chewy • Oct 14, 2020
This recipe is formerly the Purina Pro Plan Focus Adult Toy Breed Chicken & Rice Formula. For a complete list of ingredients, click on the 'Nutritional Info' tab, next to the 'Description' tab, just under the product photos.

Appetizing Tiny Dog Meal

Purina Pro Plan Toy Dog Blend is perfect for tiny dogs and just about any dog under 10 pounds. The tiny kibble is easy for them to chew, and the smell makes it very appetizing. My only complaint would be packaging, as the bag has no way to re-seal it, so you have to transfer it to another container that just adds up to more cleaning work after each bag.

My second order

I used to buy another brand of dog food- bigger chunks, and my dog would almost have GERD, reflux, and burping to it, so I decided to try this for that reason. My dog no longer has those issues and liked the food right away ( Thank goodness). This is my second order of dog food, and I have stacked up three bags. He has become energetic after meals whereas before he just sat down and rested. He deserves the best. Glad I found this food.

Chihuahua likes it!

I have a very picky rescue and tried several other brands. This kibble size is smaller than the Royal Canin chihuahua food and she likes the taste even without embellishment.

Purina Pro Plan

My boys love this. Vet recommended. Ships quick. The kibble is very tiny for toy dogs! It has probiotics and selenium in it which is a plus.

My girl loves this!!

I purchased a 2.8 lb chihuahua. I ordered the food that the breeder was "feeding" her. He said it was for small breeds. When I picked her up, he gave me a ziplock bag with the "food" he was feeding her. I had received my chewy order the day I got her. I brought the food home and compared it to the breeders sample. It was shaped total different. My picky girl wouldn't eat the chewy he recommended. I called and ordered the toy breed. It was delivered quickly, and she LOVES this brand. I highly recommend this brand for Toy breeds. Also, Chewy credited my account, and asked me to donate it to a shelter. I will only purchase my girls needs from Chewy. They are a top notch company, ship extremely fast, and employees are always friendly and helpful. Chewy and their employees care about your furbaby's needs.

toy breed food

I am sure this is a quality dog food however my dog would not eat it. Was a little surprised at the little pellets. One of many he turned his nose up at, ha. Donated to a good cause.

Acceptable

I have been having difficulty finding a food my 2 daschunds will eat. With this food at least they will eat it some of the time. I'm hoping if I give them a little longer they will decide they like it
