It Really Helps!
Although a DOGTORS-certified Animal-Assisted Therapy dog, Dobro has been slowing down. He is 14 and showing signs of dementia such as incontinence, flat emotions, loss of word recognition, and having episodes of standing and staring. Since mixing Bright Mind with his regular old dog kibble plus BARF-type supplements, he has improved! He wags his tail more, he is affectionate again, and he is even enjoying playing with the insane puppy! Yes, Bright Mind is pricey, but it has made a noticeable difference in his quality of life.
Senior Dog Food
Our senior dog has severe allergies and was on a grain free diet. She was losing muscle mass and having moments of confusion (which comes with a 16 year old dog). She's been on the Purina Pro Plan Bright Mind and like the vet suggested, her cognitive issues became less! She's also putting weight back on. We all love our furbabies so helping her live happier in her final years means so much to us.
Thank goodness it is back
I have not been able to get the Bright Mind for small dogs that I used to feed to my senior dog, Toby. Only large breed formula was available for a couple of years, so I switched to another premium senior food and supplemented with glucosamine. When this small to medium formula came out, we happily switched back about 6 weeks ago. I am telling you, it is miraculous! At 17, Toby has perked up, jumps and plays and has improved cognitively in noticeable ways since the switch. Also, Bright Mind contains glucosamine, so no more supplements are needed. I have fed two old dogs this formula over the years. It is a remarkable product and we are so happy it is back!

Love this food!
I had been recently told that this product had been discontinued so I bought what they told me had replaced it. My 16 year old Doxie started getting real lethargic and only getting up to pee, poop and eat. While at a dog show, I visited the Purina table and found out this food had not been discontinued. So I starting for it and found it on Chewy. Since my old girl has been back on this food she has a bounce in her step as is back to acting like a younger dog.
great senior dog food
I've been using Bright Mind for several years for my 15 yr. old dog. She likes the taste and is amazing healthy in mind and body for a pup her age. I've had a good experience and recommend this food highly.
Great kibble for total health
I had been feeding our dog the Purina Pro Plan Sport active variety but noticed that she wasn't eating as much anymore and was a little bit sluggish. I switched to Purina Pro Plan Bright Mind and she is back to eating and as frisky as ever. She is still not eating quite as much as before but that is probaby due to getting older and being as active as when she was younger.
Vet recommended for our senior dog
Our vet recommended for our 15 year old beagle who seems to be experiencing cognitive issues. We have been feeding to her for about 3 weeks seems to be calming her down at night.
Not great results
My picky eater (Shetland sheepdog) will eat this without any toppers which is surprising to me because he refuses all other formulas of Purina and or ProPlan. His coat is dull and lacking and stools are not consistently solid. He has been thoroughly wormed and is very well taken care of. Blood work is normal. Hoping he willingly eats the next brand I try for him. Meanwhile, I have two other shelties and the one retired champion is just now getting over another chronic round of diarrhea and she has been on Bright Minds over seven (new formula). Funny, but not funny, how they thrive on other brands but no longer do well on ProPlan. No more Purina products for my dogs. Quality control has really suffered since Covid, along with constant formula changes contributing to bad coats and digestion inconsistencies.
My Delivery
The dog food is just as expected. Delivered very quickly. The problem is the delivery company left the box outside of my building. I live in a condo. I had specifically asked if it be delivered to the unit door.
