    So far, we're loving it!

When I was researching food for my new rescue, I specifically wanted grains (legume rich foods potentially linked to heart disease), no wheat corn or soy, non-chicken protein option (chicken being one of the most common allergens for dogs) and reputable manufacturer with limited or few recalls. Besides having been referred to Purina Pro Plan by several vets and even a nutritionist specialist, I still wanted to do my research and find the best food on the market for him. He also seems to like it, Jericho was on a Natural Balance formula, and he always left some kibble in the bowl. He eats all of his Pro Plan pretty enthusiastically, and has very healthy/regular BMs. I have also noticed that he seems to be less sleepy, more playful, and more alert. Having adopted him as a senior, it's wonderful to see him happier, and hopefully healthier, than when he came home! I can only assume this is at least in part thanks to Pro Plan Bright Mind. I'd highly recommend trying Pro Plan for your pup! … more

    Amazing for our sensitive dog!!

    By on

My dog has been on a specialty grain-free diet since she was a puppy due to extreme GI issues. With all of the recent talk about grain-fee diets and heart disease, we decided to switch to a grain inclusive diet and hope for the best. We chose this diet based solely on ingredients and manufacturer standards. I couldn’t be more pleased with how well our sensitive girl has transitioned! We took it very slow (over 2 months) but she has had absolutely no issues! I hope they don’t discontinue this line as she loves the food more than her previous diet!

Giving it another try, but cutting amount fed. Bentley gained weight on this before so Vet ask us to cut the amt. to 1/3rd cup. The buy is always hungry even with his carrots and Lean Treats.

    I am shocked!

I did a lot of research to find this food, and Chewy was the only place it was available for adults. I'm not an expert, but I felt a little more comfortable with these ingredients than other foods in the ProPlan line. I am transitioning from a high protein diet out of precaution. Unlike the grain-free diet of another brand I tried, this grain diet does not make my hyper dog even more hyper. And the best part is that she LOVES it. Getting her to eat has been a chore her entire life. But she loves this food so much that she thinks it's a treat, and I can finally use her kibble for training! Her stool looks much better on this than it did on the high protein/grain free, and her energy levels are I did a lot of research to find this food, and Chewy was the only place it was available for adults. Yummy in the tummy

My new little foster dog came with the recommendation to use this food. Keeping her on it because she loves it and it does NOT cause diarrhea (One of her big problems.)

    Part of the Rotation

    By on

I chose to rotate proteins in an effort to avoid allergies. I tried this product in search of replacement diets due to the taurine deficiency worries that seem to be linked to grain-free diets. My dogs, 7 of them, like the food and the smaller, less frequent stools are a plus.

Unfortunately, my boys didn't like it very much. Such is the joys of picky eaters.

    Bright Minds = Bright Elders

    By on

This formula is specially made for older dogs, and has essentials that can help them act younger. Although I was a long-time Purina ProPlan feeder for our generations of dogs, I was skeptical at the reviews I was hearing on show lists on Facebook, but eventually the consensus convinced me to try a small bag for my 12 year old. At 13+ she zooooms to her sleeping spot at "suppertime" and will poke at my leg if we are watching tv past HER time ;) The size of the triangular kibbles requires her to chew, and I like that too. She is definitely energetic, and has a lovely coat - no one guesses that her Bright Mind is over 13 now!

    Super yummy!

My normally picky 3yo female gobbles this food up with no toppers, that’s a first for her. Both of my dogs seem to be thriving on this food, great coats, great energy!
