How old do you feed the kitten formula
Answer by • Feb 12, 2018
As a general rule, cats that are less than one year of age are considered kittens. It is important to feed your pet a kitten formula up to one year. The exception would be larger breed cats, such as the Maine Coon, which do not reach adult maturity until they are 18 months to two years of age.
I have a Main Coon kitten. He’s 7 months and is over 12 pounds. These direction say feed 1 can per 1 1/2-2 pounds body weight. This means I would be feeding him 6 cans a day. Doesn’t that seem excessive? One of your other flavors says 1 can per 3 pounds. What do you think is correct?
Answer by • Apr 17, 2019
You should feed one can per 1-1/2 - 2 pounds of body weight daily. Divide into three or more meals and continue to adjust as needed to maintain your kitten in ideal body condition and avoid excess weight gain.
