It is important that you feed Pro Plan to your adult cat "free choice" throughout the day, rather than as just a single feeding only at mealtime. Food intake required to maintain ideal body condition will vary, depending on age, activity and environment. Watch your cat's weight and adjust food amounts accordingly. If you have a kitten, or a pregnant or nursing cat, you should continue feeding Pro Plan Kitten Chicken & Rice Formula. Provide adequate fresh water in a clean container daily. For your pet's health, see your veterinarian regularly.

Transition Instructions

Although you'll be anxious to see the difference Pro Plan can make in your cat, please allow 7 - 10 days to ease the transition from your cat's current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more Pro Plan until you're feeding Pro Plan exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets.

    Cats did great on it

    By on

I've been trying out a few new dry foods for my 3 cats since their regular stuff is discontinued. They will all eat it, it smells ok, and they looked and felt amazing on it. Really soft coats, and my itchy kitty stopped scratching and licking herself so much. Tried a cheaper grain free food after, and it smells terrible and they don't look quite as good on it.

    Who likes diet food

    By on

Who likes diet food anyway. Not my 3. They tried it and said we prefer the Iams diet food. I wanted to get something that would help with their dander and thought this would be a better option. Egg has good protein and is fatty enough to help with their coats. Wolfgang, Turdle and Thundersnow have made it clear that they don’t want me to buy this again. They tried it, all excited I was pouring the bag into their container for their food. They walked away and voiced their complaints by meowing, giving me the side eye and Wolfgang trying to cover it up. I decided to mix it with the Iams that was still In the container and they tolerate it. Maybe this is good because they don’t go through their Who likes diet food anyway. Not my 3. Ginger cats LOVE it

    By on

I have a house full of ginger cats ( at least it seems like a lot, 3 is a house full, right?). I’ve recently switched them to the Purina Pro Focus foods. Urinary Tract for wet food, Weight Management for the kibble. They are fans. More so than any other “gourmet healthy” brand I’ve tried. They lick their bowls. This turkey & egg formula seems especially popular with the boys.

    Cat hates it

    By on

I have a cat that eats everything, and he won't touch this. Very strange. Now I have a whole bag of it that I don't know what to do with. I would like to contact Chewy and ask for an exchange or something.

Our newest fur baby is a grazer.

    By on

I wanted to stay with the same food brand and type but added weight management. We are trying to stop her from jumping in while someone else is eating. Changes had to be made so things are working fine.

    Cats won't eat

    By on

I normally use pro plan no grain. Chicken flavor. Since one of my cats is slightly chunky I thought I would try this but he won't eat it and my other cat won't either.

Sissy Loves Natural Turkey & Egg

    By on Top 250 Contributor

I found the ingredients in this new Purina Pro Plan Focus Weight Management Turkey & Egg Formula healthier than the Chicken & Rice Weight Management that my cat had been eating. So, thought I'd give it a try. Sissy, my 17.5 yr old cat, loves it. I added it to her Renal food and she picked out the Renal food and dropped it on the floor. Fortunately when I set out a bowl of each, she ate from both, tackling both issues. She's a smart gal.

    Good quality

    By on

I feed my kitties a mix of the Pro Plan Prime and a weight control food. Originally I was using the Royal Canin weight control food but was looking for a more economical option. I love the Purina Pro Plan diets so it was my first choice. When it comes to food - my cats aren't very picky so didn't have any problems there. I rate this 4-stars because it doesn't seem quite as filling for them as the Royal Canin weight control food and they don't last as long between meals, waking me up earlier than usual and begging (do NOT free feed). Great product, just needs a little more oomph... probably fiber to make more filling.

My Cats Love Their Diet Kibble!

    By on

We are so pleased our overweight kitties are happy with their new dry food. Two are seniors, one’s not. I think the texture is fun for them. It’s a little lighter than the non-diet kind we had been buying.
