Do I have this correct? 3 months up to 75 pounds is only 2 cups per day? That is about 1 cup less per day than other foods. Why is that? Thank you.
Answer by Willow • Apr 11, 2022
I read the chart as if my 3 month puppy adult weight will be up to 70 lbs, then she can eat 1.5-2 cups a day. Right now my 3 month old is 15lbs and estimated adult weight is to be between 55-65lbs.
I feed her about 1.5 cups atm but with more kibbles throughout day for training
I’ve never feed any of my adult dogs more than 3 cups a day, except briefly a past dog got 4 cups. But her healthy weight was 92 lbs and 4 cups got her over 100. Have to remember what else they are eating and how active they are and their natural Metabolism
In the feeding chart, for Up to 75lbs, the max amount goes down from 4-5 mos to 6-8 mos (3 1/3 max to 3 1/4 max) shouldn't the max increase?

When the puppy is younger, they will be growing faster and will need to consume more calories at that time. As they age, the growth process will gradually slow so they will not need to consume as much.
How long should a Yellow Lab be fed. This formula before moving to a adult blend.
Answer by • Mar 29, 2019
A puppy is generally considered an adult when they stop growing taller. Large-breed dogs (more than 50 pounds when fully grown) might not be ready to switch to an adult food until they are between 15 and 24 months old. We recommend consulting with your veterinarian to determine when your individual pet may be considered an adult.
Is the recommended feeding chart quantity a daily quantity or how often should we feed at that rate? He’s a growing lab puppy and will eat as long as you put it in front of him.
Answer by • Jul 18, 2019
The recommended feeding suggestions are a daily feeding guideline. We always recommend speaking to your veterinarian to ensure that your puppy is getting the exact nutrition for their individual needs.
