Purina Pro Plan High Protein Chicken & Rice Formula Large Breed Dry Puppy Food

Working great for my 4 month old golden! The breeder had been feeding Purina Pro Plan lamb puppy kibble. Even tho' bag said it was ok for all size breeds, my vet wanted one specifically formulated for large breeds. Not realizing this large breed version was available, I switched to another brand, resulting in very soft stools and then very bad diarrhea. In searching for a replacement, I noticed this large breed Purina Pro Plan version and that it was almost identical in formula (less fat, more fiber) to the breeder's version. I wish there was a lamb version, but so thankful there is no longer any issue with her digestion now.

Started using this food for both our German Shepherd puppies when we brought them home home at 8 weeks. This was what they were already eating and the vet approved of our choice. Now at 9 months one of my dogs won't even look at it anymore and the last two times he did eat it he puked. My other puppy will eat it but barely. Read a lot of reviews like this recently not sure if the last batch they started selling were bad or what but this is not it. Switching both blues to Blue Buffalo baby blue and so far they are loving it.

Works Great!

Sir Buckley James Von Hiddenhaus gives it 5 paws! We were required by contractor to feed him your brand. He loves it, and as you can see he is the picture of health. Shiny coat, rippling musculature... I was using as trainer treats for the first 13 months. He can't get enough :) 110 lbs., 17 months old.

Excellent for our giant baby

Our 6 and a half moth Pyrennean Mastiff is thriving at 90 lbs today and great health thanks to pro plan puppy large breed. He loves the kibble mixed with some of the wet food, eats it all up every day 3x a day and has no digestive or other issues at all. Our vet emphasized making sure these giant puppies don't grow too fast, and we are confident our Mo is getting all the nutrition he needs every day without over feeding.

This was the food my puppy was on when we adopted her. She’s loves it so much that this is the only thing she will train with, she really doesn’t like other treats. We started her on the regular puppy version and then our vet recommended this one for big breeds since we weren’t sure how big she will actually get. I even take a handful of it with us when we go on walks.

Puppy loves the whole "package"

I ordered this to transition Jax from his early puppy chow. When I opened the box, which he was valiantly trying to get into, he saw the bag and went bonkers! Now I know it's because he knew it was his dog food, but I prefer to think the liked the dog on the bag - which looks just like him! He loves the food and sits patiently for it - the only time he IS patient. A good choice of food for him, thanks to the recommendation of Chewy!

On line process us easy. Price good, autopay helps. Quick, easy delivery. Didn't have to lug that huge bag from pet store. Now, hoping Chewy works with us regarding next delivery. We were changing from one puppy food to another, so Didn't use as much as expected. Will probably have to push next order back until we get into a rhythm.

Puppy #2 loves it too.

I just adopted a my second great dane puppy from a Florida rescue who had him a different food that he wasn't eating too good. I pre-bought this food due to my first great dane loving it. When I opened the bag and threw a few nuggets into his food he was right there and decided to go for the bag. He is now eating with no problem.

Love Pro Plan!

Had my lab puppy on pro plan but she started itching so I immediately thought it was a chicken allergy, did a slow transition to another food (diamond naturals) and she’s always had soft poops on that food. Also found out she was just having seasonal allergies. So we’re switching back to this and her poops are already firming up and we’re not even fully back on this food yet. Love that this is a WSAVA approved diet too!

Good for 2 year old

We adopted a 2 to 3 year old Vizsla female, recently spayed. Before the spaying, vet observed she was very skinny. Evidently, previous owner barely fed her and apparently, only table scraps. She was very lean with ribs and spin showing. In a couple of weeks, spine does not show at all, and ribs a barely showing. Although fairly active, her weight has Increased from 39.7 to 41.
