    PROPLAN is the best for all breeds.

    We began using Purina PROPLAN several years ago based on the recommendation of our veterinarian who is a specialist in dealing with specific breeds including Shar-Pei. We reviewed the ingredients and fat content, and it is well suited for both our Shar-Pei and our American Bull rescue.     Great price but mediocre ingredients

    I fed my dog Purina Pro Plan because it's what the rescue organization I got her from fed her; it's also what they said the vet recommended. There's no big problem with the food per se but after doing more research into different choices, I'm switching to a different brand. Looking at the ingredients I fed my dog Purina Pro Plan because it's what the rescue organization I got her from fed her; it's also what they said the vet recommended. There's no big problem with the food per se but after doing more research into different choices, I'm switching to a different brand. Looking at the ingredients in this mix, I'm left questioning what "chicken by-product meal" and "soybean meal" is. I feel more comfortable feeding my dog more whole foods than these questionable by-products and grain meals. I started buying some freeze dried beef liver to top off my pup's Purina Pro Plan and each time I notice her picking out the beef liver pieces, eating those first, and leaving some Purina kibbles behind. Not only am I aware of the deficiencies in the ingredients used in this formula, but my dog can taste the difference too. … more
